Unreleased Epstein Images Described as “Horrific” by Democratic Lawmaker

Previously unseen images connected to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein include material that is “horrific in nature,” according to a Democratic member of the House Oversight Committee, as lawmakers review a massive new cache of evidence obtained from Epstein’s estate.

Speaking in a televised interview, Rep. Robert Garcia of California said the committee recently received approximately 95,000 photographs tied to Epstein. The materials were secured by the House Oversight Committee, which is currently controlled by Republicans, but Garcia said Democrats have pushed aggressively to make as much information public as possible while prioritizing survivor protection.

“Some of these photos are really disturbing,” Garcia said. “There are many others that we did not put out today that are incredibly disturbing.”

According to Garcia, roughly 75 to 80 images have so far been released publicly from the first batch under review. He emphasized that hundreds of the remaining images contain sensitive and explicit material involving women and must be carefully redacted before any potential release.

“The most important thing is protecting the survivors,” Garcia said, noting that he has personally met with survivors both individually and in groups. “There is no transparency imperative that overrides the safety and dignity of people who were abused.”

Garcia confirmed that among the tens of thousands of photos reviewed so far, some depict sexual content and alleged abuse consistent with crimes for which Epstein and his associate Ghislaine Maxwell were accused or convicted. He described Epstein as “a sick man” and Maxwell as “a monster,” adding that powerful individuals who participated in or enabled abuse must be held accountable.

“These images make clear the scale of the harm,” Garcia said. “Justice must follow.”

The congressman also criticized Republican leadership for what he described as repeated efforts to delay subpoenas and slow the release of materials. He accused House Speaker Mike Johnson and Oversight Chair James Comer of “dragging their feet” and participating in what he characterized as a White House cover-up.

While some documents previously obtained from the Department of Justice were already part of the public record, Garcia said key evidence—particularly bank records—has not yet been released. Democrats are currently working with the Senate Finance Committee and the House Financial Services Committee to analyze complex financial records that may reveal how Epstein funded his operations and who may have been financially involved.

Garcia noted that Republicans have subpoenaed only two financial institutions—Deutsche Bank and JPMorgan Chase—despite Democratic calls to subpoena more than 20 banks believed to have relevant records.

“There is an enormous amount of financial information we still need,” Garcia said. “We believe it will help connect money, power, and abuse.”

He also suggested that the Epstein estate may possess materials that were never turned over to federal law enforcement, raising further questions about what evidence remains undisclosed. However, Garcia stressed that the Department of Justice still holds the largest volume of Epstein-related records, including documents, photos, and videos.

“If we truly want justice for survivors, the DOJ must release the files,” Garcia said. “They have the power to do that today.”

Garcia concluded by urging full transparency from the federal government, saying that the truth will ultimately come out—whether through cooperation from the Justice Department or continued congressional investigation.
