Yet, the noise around her quickly brought her back to reality. A crowd of onlookers gathered, but instead of commending Danny for his bravery, their words stung like daggers.
“Typical Black kid trying to play the hero for attention,” one sneered.
“Disgusting,” another muttered under their breath.
Brittany stood in stunned silence, unable to comprehend the cruelty of their words. How could they vilify a boy who had just saved her life? Then she noticed Danny limping, his leg scraped from the rescue, as he quietly tried to slip away. Without thinking, she grabbed his hand and looked him in the eye.
“Thank you,” she said earnestly. “If it weren’t for you, my baby and I might not be alive right now.”
Danny’s eyes widened in surprise. He hadn’t expected gratitude from the elegant white woman he had just saved. Her sincerity touched him deeply—a glimmer of hope in a world where he rarely felt seen. Danny nodded but didn’t dare hope too much.

Some even mocked him cruelly, saying, “Look at the Black stray dog thrown out by the Mahomes family.” Danny couldn’t fight back; he could only endure in silence.
One day, while rummaging through a dumpster near a luxury apartment complex, Danny spotted Patrick stepping out with a young unfamiliar woman. They were far more affectionate than Patrick had ever been with Brittany. Curiosity burned inside Danny, prompting him to follow them. Through a slightly open window, he overheard their conversation.
“She just won’t die,” Patrick grumbled. “I slipped poison into the food that Black woman cooked, but only the baby died. What a waste of effort. Ruining the brakes to stage that car accident and get the old Black man thrown in jail… at least their miserable family is reunited behind bars.”
The woman purred in a syrupy voice, stroking his arm. “Don’t worry, your wife still doesn’t suspect a thing. We’ll get another chance to get rid of her.”
Patrick smirked darkly. “Tonight’s dinner will be her last. I’ll lace it with enough poison to make sure she’s gone for good. Then, everything—her fortune, her house—will belong to us.”
Danny froze in shock. It was all clear now—everything had been Patrick’s cruel scheme. The boy clenched his fists, trembling with anger. “I can’t let him kill Brittany. I have to stop him.”
At a candlelit dinner at home, Brittany and Patrick sat across from each other, raising their glasses in a toast. They celebrated surviving recent tragedies and mourned the loss of their unborn child.
“I should have listened to you from the start,” Brittany said, her voice trembling. “I never should have let those Black people into our home. They’re not trustworthy.”
Patrick offered only a sly smile and poured wine into their glasses. But before they could drink, Danny suddenly burst into the room, just like he had appeared out of nowhere to save Brittany that day.
In one swift motion, Danny snatched the wine glass from Brittany’s hand.
“What are you doing here?” Patrick bellowed. “I threw you out already!”
Danny ignored him and turned to Brittany, urgency in his voice. “You have to believe me. I caught him with another woman. They’re planning to poison you and blame my mom for it! Even the car accident was staged. Tonight, he’s going to make sure you die and take all your money.”
Brittany’s face turned pale, her hands trembling.
Patrick scoffed. “Don’t listen to him. He’s just trying to get his criminal parents out of jail.”
Danny didn’t flinch. Holding up the wine glass, he looked Patrick straight in the eye. “If there’s no poison, then drink it yourself.”
Patrick hesitated, his confidence wavering. The tension in the room thickened. Then, in a swift move, Danny poured the wine into the fish tank. Instantly, the expensive fish floated lifelessly to the surface.
Brittany gasped, her voice breaking. “Why would you do this to me?”

THE NFL have announced a major decision over Jalen Carter’s apparent hit on Patrick Mahomes.

In the fourth quarter of the Super Bowl, Carter, 23, broke through the Chief’s defensive line and appeared to clash with Mahomes.
During the moment, there was no flag thrown onto the field and the Eagles recovered the ball after a fumble.
It was thought that a fine would be handed out to Carter but that has proven not to be the case.
A report by Tom Pelissero has revealed that Carter was not fined by the NFL.
However, it has been claimed that one of his team-mates was, in fact, punished for another incident in the sequence.
Milton Williams has been handed a $14,069 fine for dunking the ball over the crossbar.
Pelissero wrote: “The NFL didn’t fine Eagles DT Jalen Carter for his apparent hit to Patrick Mahomes’ helmet in the fourth quarter of Super Bowl LIX.
“However, Milton Williams was fined $14,069 for dunking over the crossbar after the ensuing strip-sack.
Fox cameras showed the defensive tackle run off with the ball in celebration and dunk it over the field goal.”
This adds to the fine that was also handed to Eagles star Jalyx Hunt for Unsportsmanlike conduct
The NFL fined him $5,690 for a bow-and-arrow sack celebration even though no flag was thrown.
Carter made a name for himself at the Georgia Bulldogs and was a two-time College Football Playoff National Championship.
He was a doubt for the Super Bowl after suffering a major fitness scare just days before the match with illness.
He joined the Eagles back in the 2023 NFL Draft as the ninth overall pick.
He had an impressive first year as he was named in the PFWA All-Rookie Team.
