Patrick Mahomes is arguably one of the biggest names in the NFL—yet even his impressive celebrity status hasn’t helped his mother, Randi, sell her former home. It has just undergone a price cut less than two months after it was put on the market.
The Texas home, which the Kansas City Chiefs star, 29, moved to with his family at age 11, was initially listed in April with an asking price of $285,000. It has now been reduced to $279,000.

Randi initially made the choice to sell the Tyler, TX, dwelling after Mahomes, his wife, Brittany, 29, and his brother, Jackson, 24, gifted her a brand-new $825,000 mansion in March.
In a statement shared with Realtor.com®, Randi, a mother of three, explained that the decision to sell the family’s former dwelling was “bittersweet,” but noted that she was excited to settle down in her new house with her 12-year-old daughter, Mia.
“It’s bittersweet but it’s time for a change and Mia and I are so excited to have a new place to decorate and make a home and now I have a large space for those grand babies,” she said.

“There were a lot of tears and laughter and memories in that house but it’s time to let a new family start to build their dream there now!”
Indeed, the home is where the family was living when Mahomes—who shares three children with Brittany—was drafted by the Chiefs in the first round of the 2017 NFL draft, having revealed earlier that year that he was opting to forgo his senior year at Texas Tech to pursue a professional career.

Many of the Mahomes’ memories were still present in the property when it was put on the market, including markings on a doorframe where the kids’ heights were measured.
The home’s three bedrooms feature carpet flooring and large windows, and the stylish kitchen comes with a marble countertop and gray cabinetry. The large backyard features lush landscaping.

The listing of her son’s childhood home came after Randi was surprised with a new home by her sons and daughter-in-law.
At the time, the 52-year-old took to Instagram to reveal her shock and awe over the heartfelt gift, thanking her sons and her daughter-in-law for “this incredible blessing,” while sharing several images of herself posing outside the four-bedroom abode.
“Home is where the heart is—and my heart is full! Beyond grateful for my amazing family and my grandbabies for this incredible blessing,” she wrote.
“Being a Mom and Grandi is the greatest joy of my life, and I’m so thankful for the love that surrounds me every day. Here’s to new memories, laughter, and love in this beautiful new home!”

Randi later took to her Instagram Stories to share more details about the big reveal, dubbing it the “surprise of my life.”
Jackson, who works primarily as a social media influencer, chimed in in the comments section of the post to write, “Love you momma.”
Before moving to her new property, Randi previously opened up about the hardships of living a life in the public eye, explaining in a 2024 episode of “The Mom Game Podcast” that she and her daughter rarely ventured into the local neighborhood out of fear that they would be stared at or approached by strangers.

“As much as I say that we’re blessed and Patrick’s living his dream, it has been the hardest seven years of my adult life,” she shared. “It’s been really hard to juggle. … I’ve cried a lot. I’ve struggled with it.
“We just want to be normal and go and have dinner, and we don’t do that. My daughter and I, living in our town, we rarely go.”
