Panthers’ disrespect towards Connor McDavid is getting out of hand
When is enough, enough? This is starting to piss off fans across the league. Full story below:
The Florida Panthers are partying and having fun following their second consecutive Stanley Cup win, but some fans are beginning to think they are going a little too far with their antics.
Ever since Tuesday night when the Panthers hoisted the Stanley Cup on home ice, the players have been poking fun at their rivals, especially when it comes to making the Oilers’ winning anthem Pink Pony Club their own, blasting the song in their dressing room after Game 6 and dancing to it last night in a Miami club.
Matthew Tkachuk, who is known to push the envelope, has made comment about Oilers captain Connor McDavid, saying he will eventually win a championship, adding the sneaky line ‘Wherever that is’ to fuel trade rumours around the superstar, who can become an unrestricted free agent next summer.
During their party last night, the Panthers miggled with fans and some of them caught Aleksander Barkov and Sam Reinhart on tape, with the latter telling a fan to “shut the hell up” on camera after that fan asked Sasha Barkov what he thought of McDavid.
Clearly, even though Barkov said they were just drinking water, Reinhart seemed worried about what his captain might say. Otherwise, wouldn’t he have just let him answer?

Tkachuk also pulled another move at last night’s party, after saying that he knows McDavid will one day be a Stanley Cup champion. With the party in full swing, Tkachuk grabbed a mic and shouted, “Who even is Connor McDavid?” in front of a roaring crowd.
Later on Friday, it was Brad Marchand’s turn to once again troll the Oilers on his Instagram account:
I don’t like seeing the Panthers kick a guy when he’s down. The Oilers’ captain must be devastated right now and doesn’t deserve to be thrown under the bus during the celebrations.
It’s too bad, because there’s a way to celebrate without crossing the line.
