The Indiana Fever star recalled the horrors of her trip to Europe with the Iowa Hawkeyes.
Caitlin Clark is almost in tears after an unfortunate encounter at a restaurant in Croatia.
Memories of a long-awaited trip are something we all cherish, including the biggest stars. However, in Caitlin Clark’s case, there is one particular memory from her 2023 European tour that she would surely gladly erase from her mind, despite the taunts of her friends.
Clark and the Iowa Hawkeyes’ 2023 Croatia and Italy tour received a great deal of publicity. The team won all three of their friendlies against Team Slammers, KK Tresnjevka 2009, and Croatian All-Stars.
Fortunately for the team, it wasn’t all work. The players and coaching staff also enjoyed the European tourist attractions.
However, in a recent conversation between Clark, Kate Martin, Gabbie Marshall, and Jada Gyamfi, it came to light that not everyone has fond memories of a visit to a particular restaurant. There, the Indiana Fever star faced one of her biggest fears.
Caitlin Clark vs. the cats
In a chat on “Fresh Tawk with Jada Gyamfi,” the former Hawkeyes stars fondly recalled their trip to Europe, except for one detail that got on Clark’s nerves. “The one bad thing was the cats. I hate cats, and they were running everywhere. Remember?” the Fever guard asked her former teammates.
“When we were eating outside that one restaurant. I think it was a Mexican restaurant… one of the nights in the like… little alleyway. And there was a cat that was like running under my feet, and I was freaking out. Made me wanna cry,” Caitlin recalled to the laughter of her friends.
Problems with Kate Martin?
It’s well known that Martin and Clark are best friends. However, Caitlin’s phobia of cats might dent their friendship. “I just became an aunt to a cat. My brother got a kitten… Yeah, it’s the cutest kitten I’ve ever seen… Suzie,” Martin said to a disapproving look from Clark.
Even though Caitlin is definitely not a cat person, it seems this hasn’t affected her friendship with Kate. Of course, the newest feline member of the Martin family doesn’t live with Kate, so it remains to be seen what happens if the Las Vegas Aces forward ever gets around to adopting a whiskered companion.
