Chiefs Sign Second-Round Receiver After Bills Loss.

The Kansas City Chiefs are signing second-round pick Tyquan Thornton following their loss to the Buffalo Bills.

The Kansas City Chiefs suffered their first loss of 2024 on Sunday against the Buffalo Bills.

Although the Chiefs have just one loss, their path to the top seed in the AFC got considerably more challenging with the loss.

as they are now just 0.5 games ahead of Buffalo for first place.

One of the Chiefs’ biggest issues in the loss was their passing offense.

Patrick Mahomes finished with just 198 passing yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions.

Although it seemed that Mahomes was beginning to build chemistry with DeAndre Hopkins in recent weeks.

the duo connected for just 29 yards against Buffalo.

Rookie Xavier Worthy had one of his best performances of the season, with 61 receiving yards and a touchdown.

But, aside from Worthy, no other receiver finished with over 50 yards.

Now it seems the Chiefs could be looking to bolster their receivers unit after the poor performance.

Kansas City signed 2022 second-round pick Tyquan Thornton to their practice squad on Monday.

just days after he was released by the New England Patriots.

What did Andy Reid Say After Chiefs’ Loss to Bills?

In 28 appearances with the Patriots, Thornton had 39 catches for 385 yards and two touchdowns.

Although he was never able to reach his potential in New England after being selected out of Baylor.

pairing the young receiver with Mahomes could be exactly what he needs to revive his career.

Thornton was just signed to the practice squad, meaning there’s a chance that he’ll never see the field with the Chiefs.

but the team does now have a young weapon to deploy if the current starting group continues to struggle.
