Gigi Hadid Breaks Silence on Taylor Swift’s Romance With Travis Kelce

Gigi Hadid has shut down claims that she disapproves of Taylor Swift’s romance with NFL star Travis Kelce.

Kelce has been linked to the pop superstar since September, and the couple appeared to go public with an evening out in New York City in October. This year, Swift has shown up to multiple Kansas City Chiefs games and, more recently, Kelce was spotted at Swift’s Eras Tour show in Argentina on Saturday.

US Weekly previously reported Hadid hadn’t been seen with Swift’s squad at Kelce’s games because she doesn’t approve of Swift’s relationship moving so quickly—but the model has been quick to dispel that rumor.

“I’m a couple days late to this tag.. but didn’t the press try this last week w Selena [Gomez]? Let it be.. we are all over the moon for our girl. Period,” Hadid commented on Instagram.

Hadid’s statement was in response to gossip blogger Perez Hilton sharing a screenshot of an article he wrote with the headline “Gigi Hadid ‘Doesn’t Agree With The Way’ Taylor Swift Is Handling Travis Kelce Romance.” The model commented on his post to clear up any confusion. Newsweek reached out to a representative for Hadid via email Tuesday for comment.

Perez’s article quoted the November 9 article from Us Weekly that said Hadid thought Swift was “doing too much” with the Chiefs tight end.

“One of the reasons Gigi hasn’t attended any of Travis’ games is because she doesn’t agree with the way Taylor has been acting with [him],” an alleged insider told the publication. “She feels like Taylor is doing too much, too soon.”

Hadid’s reference to Gomez in her Instagram comment is in relation to Page Six reporting that she was worried her friend was “moving too fast” with the Kansas City Chiefs player.

A source told the publication: “Selena thinks Taylor going to games and gallivanting through New York immediately after just meeting Travis is something that is very unlike her. Historically, Taylor’s always been super private about everything, and now with this [relationship], she’s so open about it that it’s just very odd for Selena.”

The insider added: “Selena just doesn’t want to be part of the media frenzy because it’s really chaotic.” Newsweek reached out to a Gomez representative for comment via email Tuesday.

Kelce and the “Cruel Summer” singer’s relationship has been heating up over recent weeks. When the NFL star was in the audience at Swift’s Saturday concert, she had a surprise in store. She closed out her concert by tweaking the lyrics to her hit song “Karma” to include a nod to Kelce.

“Karma is the guy on the Chiefs, coming straight home to me,” Swift sang.

The original lyrics are: “Karma is the guy on the screen, coming straight home to me.”
