Indiana Fever guard Sophie Cunningham thinks Caitlin Clark is the face of the WNBA, and if you disagree with her, she will clap back at you.
On the first episode of her podcast called “Show Me Something,” Cunningham sounded off on Clark being the face of the WNBA.
“It literally like pisses me off when people are like she’s not the face of the league,” Cunningham said about Clark. “What? There’s really good, well-known people in our league. I’m not discrediting them. We have a lot of badasses in our league. Like hell yeah to that. I’m all for that. But when people are trying to argue that she’s not the face of our league or if our league would be where we’re at without her, you’re dumb as s**t, you’re literally dumb as f**k.”

When Clark suffered a left quad injury on May 24 and missed almost a month, WNBA TV ratings went down more than 50%.
Clark missed the 2025 WNBA All-Star Game in Indiana. Ticket prices and viewership went down after she announced she wouldn’t play.
A two-time All-Star, Clark is currently out with a right groin injury. The Iowa product has appeared in 13 games this season for the Fever. She’s averaging 16.5 points, 5.0 rebounds and 8.8 assists while shooting 36.7% from the field, 27.9% from beyond the arc and 82.0% from the free-throw line.
The Fever are 14-12 on the season. They are fourth in the WNBA in points per game, sixth in points per game allowed, third in offensive rating, seventh in defensive rating and fourth in net rating.
Clark won the Rookie of the Year Award last season. She was the first pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft. The 23-year-old has career averages of 18.5 points, 5.5 rebounds and 8.5 assists.
