Olympic gymnastics champion Simone Biles recently shared a surprising story about her experience at a Paris nightclub, where she claims the venue tried to charge her an outrageous $26,000 for a single bottle of champagne.

The incident occurred following the closing ceremonies of the Paris Olympics, where Biles added three gold medals and a silver to her already impressive collection.

Biles recounts crazy Paris nightclub story

In a TikTok video posted on Monday, Biles recounted the events of the evening, expressing her disbelief at the club’s attempt to charge such an exorbitant amount.

“We had closing ceremonies at the Olympics. I went, and after that, we went out. You guys, this club tried to charge me $26,000 for a bottle of champagne. Like, are you insane?”Biles said while applying her makeup.

Biles did not disclose the name of the club but made it clear that she did not fall for the attempted overcharge.

“Obviously, I didn’t buy it. But why would you even try to play me like that? Like, that’s wild,” she continued.

The 27-year-old gymnast shared that she sometimes wishes she could avoid the attention that comes with her fame.

“And I don’t know, sometimes the attention, I’d rather not have it. I’d rather just be as normal as possible… I don’t know,” she added.

While Biles didn’t name the club in her video, she had previously posted photos of herself and her sister, Adria Biles, celebrating at L’Arc, a well-known Paris nightclub, following the conclusion of the Olympic Games.

In one Instagram story, Biles posted a snapshot from the night, captioning it, “The reason I’m unwell this morning,” alongside images of their private table adorned with signs reading “Simone Biles God 4 Life” and “Gym legend,” while gold confetti rained down.

The night out came just weeks after Biles’ stellar performance at the Summer Olympics in Paris, where she secured another victory in the women’s individual all-around final.

Since returning to the United States, Biles has been supporting her husband, Jonathan Owens, a safety for the Chicago Bears.

Despite her busy post-Olympic schedule, Biles has made time to attend Bears games, including their recent 27-3 preseason win over the Cincinnati Bengals, where Owens recorded three tackles.

However, Biles admitted in the same TikTok video that her appearances at future Bears games might be limited.

“I don’t know how many games I’ll be able to make because in a few weeks we go on tour, and if you guys aren’t aware, it’s the Gold Over America tour,” she explained.

The tour, set to begin on September 16 in Oceanside, California, will feature Biles and other top gymnasts showcasing their skills across 32 cities in the U.S.
