The upcoming NBA season is set to be historic for LeBron James as he prepares to play alongside his eldest son, Bronny James, for the first time. Though Bronny has yet to come up with a nickname for his legendary father, the two have already shared the court in practice sessions, giving fans a glimpse of what’s to come.
During these intense training sessions, the James duo has shown their competitive spirit. Lakers general manager Rob Pelinka recently shared a lighthearted moment between the two during a scrimmage on Tuesday.
Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, Pelinka revealed how things got heated when Bronny found himself in the tough position of guarding his father.
“Bronny got switched onto LeBron, and he took him baseline, up and under off the glass.
The words exchanged afterwards were probably more challenging than anything else,” Pelinka said.
When it comes to showcasing his prowess, LeBron James never gives up. His lighthearted trash-talking with his son is a perfect example.
LeBron James Locked In, But Lakers Still Debating Bronny’s Spot in Lineup
Lakers head coach JJ Redick has already declared the team’s starting five, which features LeBron James.
However, fans are eagerly awaiting news about Bronny James’s role on the team.
As speculation swirls, Redick revealed that no concrete decision has been made yet regarding Bronny’s involvement.
“We don’t have anything planned in terms of a commitment to do it this way.
We obviously have talked about it as a staff, and we’ve gotten into some specifics of what that might look like, but we haven’t committed to anything,” Redick said.
“Obviously there’s a discussion to be had once we’re all together, with Bronny and LeBron, too.
They should be a part of that discussion as well,” he added.
NBA fans are already buzzing at the thought of James’ father-son duo sharing the court in Lakers jerseys.
But for now, the specifics of Bronny’s role remain a mystery.
