John Stamos Reveals His Mother-in-Law’s Legendary Christmas Dessert Everyone Is Obsessed With
John Stamos may be known for going all out on Halloween, but when it comes to Christmas, he admits the holiday energy in his house is a little more low-key — at least compared to October.
Speaking during a recent interview, the Full House star joked that his family may have “used up all their excitement” during Halloween. With a seven-year-old at home, Stamos said the spooky season was “epic,” revealing that nearly 2,000 kids stopped by his house for trick-or-treating.

“I was Frankenstein,” he recalled, adding that his makeup was so convincing that no one recognized him. One moment stood out in particular: “I heard one kid say, ‘Hey, John Stamos lives there,’ and the other kid said, ‘You mean John Lamos?’”
Despite the Halloween frenzy, Stamos says Christmas still brings its own cherished traditions — especially one unforgettable dessert made by his mother-in-law.
According to Stamos, the sweet treat has reached legendary status within the family and among guests. The dessert, a rich mix of caramel, sugar, cream, and crunchy snack ingredients, is so popular that people ask about it the moment they walk through the door.

“My mother-in-law makes this dessert that everybody is obsessed with,” he said. “People don’t even say ‘Merry Christmas.’ They ask, ‘Is your mother-in-law’s dessert out yet?’”
Stamos joked that the treat is so irresistible the family has nicknamed it “Christmas crack,” emphasizing just how addictive it is — in the purely humorous, food-loving sense.

He even brought some to share during the interview, proudly watching as the hosts immediately understood the hype. “See what I’m saying?” he laughed. “You can’t stop.”
The dessert has become such a staple that one year, when his mother-in-law didn’t make it, guests reportedly wandered around the house worriedly asking if everything was okay.
Between epic Halloween celebrations and a dessert no one can resist, it’s clear the Stamos family knows how to create traditions people never forget — especially when sugar and caramel are involved.
