Elon Musk‘s latest technical endeavour has finally borne fruit as one of the patients who were used to try out the Neuralink has shown surprisingly well results.

In a livestream on X, Musk showed how the patient, Noland Arbaugh was able to play chess with the Neuralink.

Elon Musk created the brain-chip Neuralink in 2016. The invention is revolutionary and will probably be the future of neuroscience technologies.

 

As for the process, a coin-sized device is surgically inserted into the skull, and ultra-thin wires are used to connect it to the brain to create a brain-computer interface (BCI).

The disk would record brain activity and transfer it over a common Bluetooth link to a device, like a smartphone.

According to Musk, the first product, named Telepathy, will let users operate computers or phones “just by thinking.”

As per claims, implanting the chip in the brain region responsible for motor function will help individuals overcome neurological diseases.

According to Musk, people who are limb-loss victims will be the first users.

Following a diving accident that left him paralyzed below the shoulders, Noland Arbaugh underwent a chip implant in January.

Noland said that the surgery was “super easy.” He used the chip to play chess and video games and thanked Musk for giving him “the ability to do that again.”
