Angel Reese Has Message For Critics After Historic Unrivaled Performance
WNBA star Angel Reese has had a tremendous last year.
After being selected by the Chicago Sky in the first round of the 2024 WNBA Draft, she had a great rookie season, averaging 13.6 points and 13.1 rebounds per game. Although she didn’t win WNBA Rookie of the Year, she is set up for an even better second season in 2025.
Reese has been playing in Unrivaled, a women’s 3-on-3 league, this year. She made league history on Friday, becoming the first player to deliver a 20-point and 20-rebound performance.
She helped her team win by nine points, 72-63 and was emotional while speaking to the media after the game.

“It’s so much I can say. But for me, to keep going, it’s hard. It is hard. To live my life isn’t easy. And I don’t want to get emotional, but that’s why I put the work in every day,” Reese said, via Safid Deen of USA TODAY.
She knows that she has a fair share of critics and wants them to stay on the wrong side of history as she continues to write her story.
“No. tell them stay on that side. please,” Reese tweeted.
She’ll continue to try and play well in this league before the 2025 WNBA season starts in the spring. The Sky finished the 2024 season with a 13-27 record, good for third-worst in the league.
Her goal will be to help them get into the playoffs this year. Time will tell if she can accomplish that goal once the season begins.
