On the serene banks of Lake Tahoe, Nevada, the lush fairways of Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course offered a picture of calm—until the Kelce brothers showed up.
Jason and Travis Kelce returned to the sun-soaked course Saturday for the second round of the American Century Championship, NBC’s celebrity golf tournament that draws some of the biggest names in sports and entertainment.
While there was no sign of Taylor Swift, the NFL brothers were accompanied once again by SWAT officers. But based on what happened next, the security may have been more useful protecting the spectators from the Kelces, rather than the other way around.

Incoming! Travis Hits a Fan—Literally
One unlucky fan found himself in Travis Kelce’s firing line, struck in the back of the neck by an errant shot from the Kansas City Chiefs star. Thankfully, the incident ended on a light note, with the tight end stopping to check on the fan, signing an autograph, and posing for a photo. When asked if he was okay, the fan laughed and replied, “I think so.”

Identified as Rich Backeneck, the fan was seen clutching his neck and grimacing but appeared uninjured.
A Round of Mayhem
To say their tournament spiraled into chaos would be an understatement.
Joined by Baker Mayfield, quarterback for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the trio’s round was more party than performance. They were seen shotgunning beers, receiving ice cream deliveries, and turning the entire event into a roaming celebration that nearly tipped into disaster.
The Kelce brothers were fan favorites all week, patiently signing autographs and posing for selfies. But on Saturday, things got a little too close for comfort. Over the closing holes, both Jason and Travis fired multiple errant shots into the crowd.
Travis vs. Trees (and Fans)
Wearing a pink polo from Tiger Woods’ Sun Day Red apparel line, Travis hit a ball that bounced off the roof of a grandstand and landed in the water. Earlier, he was almost hit himself by a wild shot from Jason that ricocheted off a tree.
At Hole 15, Travis’s ball landed on the cart path. Turning to fans nearby, he grinned and said, “You guys signed a waiver, right?” Later, he learned another shot may have struck someone in the crowd:
“Oh s**, I did?”* he asked. Thankfully, no injuries were reported.

At another hole, he was caught swearing after a poor tee shot came up short of the green.
Jason’s Wild Shots and a Police Car Close Call
Jason, sporting his signature straw hat, took the scenic route around the course as well. On the 15th hole, he hooked a second shot into the crowd, then followed it up by hitting the crowd again on his next attempt.
Three holes later, one of his shots narrowly avoided a police vehicle, coming to rest just behind it.
Baker Mayfield Joins the Madness
While Mayfield avoided hitting fans, he wasn’t spared from the antics. The trio sank more beers than putts, and Mayfield ended up in a beer-chugging contest he promptly lost.
At Hole 17, things got rowdier. Jason and Mayfield practiced a snap, footballs were drop-kicked into boats, and Travis danced to Taylor Swift’s “Shake It Off” as it played loudly over the speakers. Though Swift wasn’t there in person, her presence was definitely felt.

The Bet Behind the Chaos
Much of the mayhem stemmed from a wild bet the Kelce brothers made the night before.
Jason revealed to Access Hollywood that the two had agreed on a challenge:
“Every three-putt, you have to shotgun a beer.”
“So once you miss that first one,” Jason joked, “if you’re left with a four or five-footer, it’s gonna be a little nerve-wracking standing over that thing.”
Despite his competitive past, Jason admitted he was only in Tahoe “for the vibes.”
“That’s what it’s all about,” he said. “Everybody’s here to just have a good time. A few guys actually expect to win, but we know who they are. We’re just here for fun.”
From beer-soaked bets to wayward balls and SWAT escorts, the Kelce brothers once again proved that when they show up, things get loud, wild, and unforgettable.
