Nikola Jokic, the star player of the Denver Nuggets, used to tie his wedding ring to his game shoes.
This sentimental gesture made him feel connected to his family while on the court.
However, he eventually decided to stop this practice after a comical incident made him realize that keeping the ring in his shoes during games wasn’t the best idea.
Nikola Jokic recently gave an interview during the launch of his first signature shoe with the Chinese brand 361 Degrees.
The shoe features an impressive design, but its most distinctive aspect is a specially designed pocket for players to store their wedding rings.
Jokic, known for tying his wedding ring to his shoe, appreciated this addition.
However, during the interview, he revealed that he would not use the pocket for his ring and shared the reason behind his decision.
“Funny story. I lost my ring, and my wife gave me another ring. And I lost that too.” Jokic said
Jokic married his longtime girlfriend, Natalija Macesic, on October 24, 2020, in his hometown of Sombor.
The couple has a daughter named Ognjena and a son born in November 2024.
