Clark Hunt’s Wife’s Bold Statement Against NFL Decisions on Andy Reid as Chiefs HC Joined Bill Belichick’s Company

Some time and luck is needed for the Kansas City Chiefs to win the AFC Championship and Super Bowl. But it seems, Andy Reid has already received one prestigious piece of hardware to take to his home. However, Clark Hunt’s wife thinks the NFL’s decision is not completely correct!
Hired as the club’s 13th coach on January 13, Andy Reid soon found his compatibility with the quarterbacks Alex Smith and later Patrick Mahomes. The Chiefs’s head coach soon became the center of the spotlight in the franchise, especially because of his 284 total wins and three Super Bowl wins.
All these efforts, especially this year’s 15 wins in regular season, resulted in Andy Reid getting his credit by the NFL. Yes! At the annual 101 Awards, Reid was named as the AFC Coach of the Year for this season. As obvious, it’s great and exhilarating news for the Chiefs’s community, so Clark Hunt’s wife, Tavia Hunt, didn’t shy away from celebrating Reid and his efforts.

Tavia Hunt shared a story on her official Instagram account. In this new update, which was originally shared by the Chiefs’s IG profile, a cutout image of Andy Reid can be seen. Along with this, the banner also featured his name and “AFC Coach Of The Year – 101 Awards” as text. The Chiefs community made it sure to congratulate and honor their head coach with a caption, “Led us to our best record ever… so far. Well deserved, Coach! Congratulations.”
But probably, this congratulatory message wasn’t enough for Clark Hunt’s wife. This is evident as Tavia shared her opinion in her caption, saying, “Should be every year for the SEVEN- IMO.” Well, that’s definitely a bold statement for the NFL decisions where she wished that Andy Reid should have got the last 7 awards too.
The last seven winners of the 101 AFC Coach Of The Year were: DeMeco Ryans (2023), Doug Pederson (2022), Mike Vrabel (2021), Kevin Stefanski (2020), John Harbaugh (2019), Frank Reich (2018), and Doug Marrone (2017). But per Tavia Hunt, all these decisions by the NFL should have been made in favor of Andy Reid. This is because he has proved it again and again. And that’s why in his 12th season with the Chiefs, he has led his team to 10th-straight trip to the playoffs.
Nevertheless, this year, Andy Reid has definitely joined Bill Belichick’s company!
Andy Reid matched Bill Belichick’s laurel?
Bill Belichick has won eight Super Bowls in the NFL as the head coach. In fact, he still is on the top in achieving so in the league’s history. So, in no way near, at least for now, Andy Reid is close to the legendary coach. But there is one thing that Andy Reid has joined Belichick in his company, and that is—101 Awards.

Originally founded in 1969 by Lamar Hunt and a group of Kansas City business leaders, this event honors top coaches and the NFL players via a ballet system by broadcasters and sportswriters. This year, the Chiefs are happy to see the trophy coming back to their home with Andy Reid. And with this, the 66-year-old coach has joined Bill Belichick’s winning list of 101 awards. The former NFL coach has earlier won this award three times in 2001, 2003 and 2007. Similarly, Reid has now won this award thrice—2013, 2015 and 2024.
Now the Chiefs’s head coach is heading to his and the NFL’s first-ever 3-peat. Let’s see if he wins this one or not. Besides this, Kevin O’Connell received his first 101 NFC Coach of the Year Award this season, as well.
