Indiana Fever superstar guard Caitlin Clark has made thousands of baskets during her illustrious playing career, and she got oh-so-close to achieving a personal first in another sport.

Golfers know just how hard it is to achieve a hole-in-one, even if you’re a professional athlete like Caitlin Clark. To get an idea of how hard it is, GolfPass estimates that the odds of a hole-in-one are about 1 in 12,500.
Clark recently hit the greens for a round of golf, perhaps with the dream of a hole-in-one on her mind. The Fever star shared a video on TikTok to reveal just how close she was to achieving the once-in-a-lifetime feat.
Caitlin Clark’s reaction upon learning that she missed by inches is awfully relevant for the golfers who’ve experienced the heartbreak:
It’s one thing to come that close to a hole-in-one. It’s another to think that you made it, as Clark believed in this instance, only to walk up to the green and realize you didn’t make the shot of a lifetime after all.
As they say in baseball and softball, “Just keep swinging.” The more Clark plays golf, the better her chance of making that shot once and for all. If you need inspiration, note that the legendary Tiger Woods didn’t make his first hole-in-one as a professional until the 1996 Greater Milwaukee Open
Caitlin Clark Is Coming Off A Historic Rookie Season
The first overall pick of the 2024 WNBA Draft more than lived up to expectations in her rookie season. The Iowa product led the league in assists and earned WNBA Rookie of the Year and All-Star nods, having averaged 19.2 points, 5.7 rebounds and 8.4 assists per game.
The 22-year-old Clark also led Indiana to their first playoff appearance since 2016. They finished with a 20-20 record but were swept by the Connecticut Sun in the opening round of the playoffs
