Caitlin Clark Makes Candid Admission About Eye Injury Following Fever Loss.

Game one of the WNBA playoffs didn’t go as the Indiana Fever had hoped, as they suffered a disappointing 93-69 loss to the Connecticut Sun.

In the first quarter, Caitlin Clark took a shot to the eye when Dijonai Carrington accidentally hit her in the face. From that point on, Clark struggled to find her rhythm, finishing with 11 points on 4-of-17 shooting, along with eight assists and four rebounds.

Following the game, she didn’t mince words when discussing her eye injury and the overall performance of the Fever squad.

“Obviously got me pretty good… I don’t think it affected me. I felt like I got good shots, they just didn’t go down.” […] “I felt like we just played a crappy game. The flow of the game was really bad.” Clark said.

Fortunately, she didn’t seem too concerned about getting hit in the eye and didn’t use it as an excuse for the team’s sluggish performance against a Sun team they had a 1-3 record against in the regular season.

After a close first quarter, which ended with a score of 23-20, the game quickly took a turn for the worse for the Fever. The Sun, led by Alyssa Thomas, who recorded a triple-double with 12 points, 13 assists, and 10 rebounds, maintained a double-digit lead for the rest of the game.

Game 2 is scheduled for Wednesday night, and it appears that Clark will be ready to go. The Fever now find themselves in a must-win situation if they hope to extend the series and bring it back to Indiana.
