WNBA star DiJonai Carrington blasted a social media troll who decided it would be funny to make a George Floyd-themed meme to describe her loss to Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever on Wednesday night.
The Fever beat the Connecticut Sun 84-80 to improve their record to 15-16. Clark scored 19 points, adding five rebounds and five assists in yet another record-breaking performance.

An X/Twitter user going by the handle @ThePhillipHolz later edited Caitlin’s face over former police officer Derek Chauvin’s in a photo of him kneeling on Floyd’s neck, also switching the latter’s face with a photo of Carrington’s.

Carrington has since responded, referring to the meme as “sick.”
“Imagine thinking George Floyd’s murder is a joke,” she wrote. “All because of a basketball game. This is so sick.”
“That’s not cool but that guy ain’t no fan of cc,” a fan claimed. “His account is basically dedicated to being a racist.”
“That loser did the same to Angel Reese as well a few months ago. No idea why he is still on Twitter,” another wrote.
Carrington called Fever supporters the “nastiest fans in the W” after the game, prompting some harsh criticism. But the photo shown above took it way too far.
DiJonai Carrington Doesn’t Have Any Support In Indy
The meme, if we could even call it that, is incredibly sensitive, and it’s hard to see how someone would find it funny. Carrington trended after playing the Fever earlier in the season, having gone viral for mocking Clark and turning fans against her, but even they thought it was too much.
As for Clark, she set a record for the WNBA’s most three-pointers as a rookie in the victory.
She has not commented on the image.
