NFL. Patrick Mahomes is living his worst family nightmare in the midst of the Chiefs’ success
Being a friend or family member of a superstar like Patrick Mahomes or any other elite athlete comes with its perks, but it also means living under the watchful eye of the media.

Like his Patrick Mahomes Sr.

who, as you may recall, was arrested in February, just days before the Super Bowl against the San Francisco 49ers.

In fact, video of the arrest was released last week, and in the footage, Pat Mahomes Sr.

can be seen in the back of a police car, handcuffed and talking to the officer.

Mahomes Battles Father’s Legal Issues and Injuries?

Earlier this week, Patrick Mahomes Sr.

began a 10-day jail sentence and won’t be released until Halloween.

He is still serving five years of probation and one year of “intensive supervision” after pleading guilty to his third DUI.

Mahomes Sr.’s mistake was that he was already on probation, and this latest arrest came during a crucial Chiefs injury crisis and in Mahomes’ statistically roughest moments as a quarterback. In terms of wins, however, it’s the first time in his career he’s started 6-0, and only the third time in franchise history.

In the other two seasons (2003-2013), the Chiefs went undefeated until their 10th game.

In 2018, Mahomes Sr. was charged with driving while intoxicated for the second time, and served 40 days in jail over weekends in 2019 and 2020.

Despite this difficult situation with his father, who has been sober for over six months as he shared on Instagram, and the many injuries to key offensive players, it doesn’t seem to affect Patrick Mahomes when it comes to securing wins, though it does show up in his stats.

On Mahomes Sr. it is worth remembering he had a solid career as a Major League Baseball pitcher, playing for six teams in over 11 seasons and his best season came in 1999 with the New York Mets.

Mahomes breaks through impact of father’s arrest.

With this perfect start to the season against all odds, Patrick is showing the kind of winning personality he has.

Why? Because since winning the last Super Bowl, he knows he could be the first quarterback in NFL history to achieve a three-peat – not even Tom Brady has done it.

But in order to do that, he’s had to deal with several negative events since the offseason, though not personally.

While many of these issues aren’t directly related to Patrick, he’s aware of everything that’s going on with the team, and it’s certainly having some psychological impact-or, in this case, an impact on his stats.

Last weekend, Patrick threw two interceptions and posted a career-worst 44.4 passer rating against the San Francisco 49ers, leading the Chiefs to their 12th straight win dating back to last year.

Mahomes has 1,389 passing yards, his lowest total through six games, and has more interceptions (8) than touchdowns (6) this season, with a career-low 82.5 passer rating, but the Chiefs are winning, which is what matters.

Along with his father’s issues, these are the challenges the Chiefs have faced after winning the Super Bowl:

In addition, Rice was allegedly involved in an altercation at a nightclub where he allegedly punched a photographer.

Now, his father’s 10-day jail sentence.
