NFL star Travis Kelce is reportedly planning to propose to girlfriend Taylor Swift and is said to be ready to spend eight figures on an engagement gift.

Kansas City Chiefs tight end Kelce has been dating Swift since 2023 and speculation has grown in recent months that he could be getting ready to propose.

It comes after Kelce congratulated fellow NFL player Josh Allen on his engagement to actress Hailee Steinfeld.

After the loved-up couple posted a picture on Instagram of the moment the quarter-back popped the question, Kelce commented: “Congratulations!!!” along with clapping emojis.

Now, a fresh report has suggested that Kelce is also thinking about marriage.

RadarOnline claim that Kelce is considering popping the question to Swift and could spend up to an eye-watering $12m (£9.4m) on an engagement ring.

The report also claims that Kelce is ‘scared stiff’ about picking the right ring for his sweetheart.

An insider speaking to the publication said: “Travis doesn’t want to fumble this one.

“He’s been putting a lot of pressure on himself to make every detail of this proposal perfect, especially the ring.

“The rule is the ring should be worth a good three months’ salary, so he’s looking to spend some $12m on it.

“No one’s going to be able to call him cheap.

“He wants the whole thing to be unforgettable, and that includes finding the right ring. He wants something that will sweep Taylor off her feet!”

SPORTbible has contacted Kelce’s representatives for comment.

The suggested $12m figure for an engagement ring comes from the fact that Kelce earned more than $45m (£35m) this year through his NFL career and endorsement deals.

As well as splashing the case on an engagement ring and picking out the right one, Kelce is also reportedly experiencing pressure through the manner of how he gets down on one knee and actually pops the question to Swift.

The source added: “The actual proposal is also stressing him out.

“He’s not the type to do things halfway, so he’s been brainstorming the perfect location – and it all has to be a big surprise.

“He wants it to be worthy of making it into one of her love songs. He’s really obsessing over it!”

Since Swift, 34, and Kelce, 35, started dating, they have been dubbed ‘America’s very own royal couple’, with one of the biggest NFL stars and arguably the biggest pop star in the world becoming one of the most talked about couples on the planet.
