Little Boy Was Waiting in School for Mom to Pick Him Up, But Then Brad Marchand Shows Up and Did THIS!
It was an ordinary school day for 8-year-old Lucas, a die-hard hockey fan from Boston, until it turned into an unforgettable moment with his favorite player, Brad Marchand. Lucas had been waiting outside his school for his mom to pick him up, but as the minutes ticked by, she hadn’t arrived. His excitement about their planned trip to a local hockey rink started fading, replaced by worry.
As Lucas sat on the school steps, imagining slap shots and breakaways, a sleek black SUV pulled up. Out stepped none other than Boston Bruins star Brad Marchand. In town for a charity event, Marchand had noticed Lucas sitting alone and decided to stop and check on him.
“Hey, buddy, you okay?” Marchand asked, kneeling to Lucas’s level. Starstruck and wide-eyed, Lucas explained he was waiting for his mom. Marchand, known for his tenacity on the ice and heart off it, decided to stay with Lucas until she arrived.
But the encounter didn’t end there. To pass the time, Marchand invited Lucas to show him around the schoolyard. They found the hockey net on the playground, and Marchand surprised Lucas by pulling a puck and mini-stick from his car. The two played an impromptu one-on-one game, with Lucas scoring a “game-winning” goal to Marchand’s cheers.
When Lucas’s mom finally arrived, she was stunned to see her son playing hockey with a Bruins legend. Marchand handed Lucas the mini-stick as a keepsake and told him, “Keep practicing, and maybe I’ll see you on the ice someday.”
For Lucas, it was a dream come true—a simple school pick-up turned into a memory he’d cherish forever, thanks to Brad Marchand’s kindness and love for the game. Sometimes, the greatest assists happen off the ice.
Marchand gifts puck to fan who was married in Bruins jersey
Unique sign catches attention of veteran forward who gives out little gift
Nothing like a wedding present from Brad Marchand.
The Boston Bruins forward spotted a unique sign in the crowd at SAP Center before playing the San Jose Sharks that he couldn’t ignore.
A fan near the glass held up a sign reading “I got married in your jersey 63.” The sign included pictures of the couple, both wearing Bruins jerseys.
Marchand skated over, scooped up a puck and tossed it over the glass as a good luck to recently-married the love birds. The moment was captured on the NESN broadcast and shared on social media.
Beats a gravy boat any day.
