The draft of the ring design along with a special note left by Travis left the jewelers stunned: “He truly loves her!”
The couple announced their engagement on Aug. 26 on Instagram
Taylor Swift’s engagement ring from Travis Kelce is what real love stories are made of!
The couple, who started dating in 2023, announced their engagement on Instagram on Aug. 26 with a series of photos from the romantic proposal and the bride-to-be’s stunning engagement ring.
The Kansas City Chiefs tight end, 35, tapped jewelry designer Kindred Lubeck and Artifex Fine Jewelry, which houses luxury designs retailing upwards of $33,650, as seen with their Deametra ring. Swift’s new sparkler, which Kelce designed with Lubeck, boasts a massive Old Mine Brilliant Cut diamond, a rectangle-cut diamond with antique references.
For the special occasion, which involved a gorgeous arrangement of florals, Swift, 35, wore a $398 pinstripe Polo Ralph Lauren halter dress, gold accessories and tan sandal heels. Her glam included her signature red lip in a pink coral hue.
The couple went public with their relationship in October 2023 when they stepped out holding hands at a Saturday Night Live afterparty. The month prior, Swift had attended her first football game in support of the NFL star and the Kansas City Chiefs.
During her podcast debut on the New Heights podcast, the pair opened up about how they first met and Kelce’s public date proposal, which involved the athlete planning to give Swift a friendship bracelet with his phone number on it.
“Andy [Reid] was vouching for you,” Swift said, giving the Kansas City Chiefs head coach and longtime friend of her dad, Scott, credit. “There were a lot of people whispering in my ear about you.”
The Miss Americana star and Grammy winner also jokingly compared Kelce’s grand efforts to woo her to an ” ’80s John Hughes movie.”
“[It’s like] he was standing outside of my window with a boombox saying, ‘I want to date you! Do you want to go on a date with me? I made you a friendship bracelet! Do you want to date me?’ ” she said, referencing the movie Say Anything.

Recently, Kelce’s dad, Ed Kelce, spoke with PEOPLE about Swift being a large part of Kelce’s “happiness” and joy.
While attending the premiere of The Kingdom in Kansas City on Aug. 24, Ed candidly admitted the answer to be “Taylor” when he was tasked with pinpointing the cause of Travis’ happiness. “There’s no question about it.”
