At a press conference held in Atlanta this morning, the 7’1″ basketball legend announced that he would be donating the entirety of his recent $12.9 million earnings – which include performance bonuses, endorsement renewals, and speaking fees – to fund a permanent housing initiative for the homeless.

Each housing unit will be fully furnished and ready to welcome individuals or families currently on the streets or in unstable living situations. Onsite social workers and job counselors will be available around the clock.
