Benedictine College graduate describes crowd reaction to Harrison Butker’s speech: ‘Some of us booed’ for shocking reasons-b

A Benedictine College graduate is speaking out after being present for Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker’s controversial commencement address.

Susannah Leisegang recently shared her thoughts in a viral TikTok on the May 11 speech that touched on topics from President Joe Biden to the LGBTQ+ community and “degenerate cultural values,” to the government’s response to COVID-19.

“Alright, well, since I have about two hundred of y’all, congratulating me and asking me what the f—k I was thinking during the speech, I thought I’d respond,” Leisegang said in the video. “It was f—king horrible. Some of us did boo. Me and my roommate definitely did.”

But the whole crowd, Leisegang claims, wasn’t on her side.

“There was a standing ovation from everyone in the room. Except from me, my roommate and about 10 to 15 other women […] You also have to keep in mind this was at a Catholic and conservative college. So, a lot of the men were like, ‘f—k yeah,’ they were excited,” Leisegang said.

“But it was horrible. Most of the women were looking back and forth at each other like, ‘What the f—k is going on?’ Like, did he just come here to speak about politics and his views on women? That’s all you got for graduation, commencement speech. Are you kidding?”

Leisegang isn’t the only TikToker to excoriate the Chiefs’ Super Bowl champion kicker.

Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker aired out his frustrations with a litany of political, religious and cultural issues during a commencement speech at Benedictine College last weekend.

Ex-Chiefs cheerleader Stefanie Hills went scorched earth on Butker, telling him to “stay in [his] f—ing lane.”

Butker gained a supporter in Gracie Hunt, daughter of Chiefs owner Clark Hunt, on Friday when she said she “really respect[s] Harrison and his Christian faith and what he’s accomplished on and off the field” in an appearance on “Fox & Friends.”

The now-viral speech drew a statement from the NFL, which stated that his comments do not align with the league’s values.

“Harrison Butker gave a speech in his personal capacity,” said Jonathan Beane, the senior vice president and chief diversity and inclusion officer at the NFL. “His views are not those of the NFL as an organization. The NFL is steadfast in our commitment to inclusion, which only makes our league stronger.”
