When Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert married, it seemed like a royal union in country music. However, their divorce in 2015 left fans heartbroken and curious.

Lambert initially kept a low profile post-divorce but later opened up in a CBS News interview about the intense scrutiny she faced, saying, “I wasn’t prepared for that. I don’t think anybody is. And it’s not nice sometimes, but I think you got to take it with a grain of salt.” She emphasized her ability to express her truth through her music: “I’m a singer-songwriter, so luckily I can tell my whole truth. I will not lie in my music.”

Both Lambert and Shelton moved on to new relationships. Lambert married Brendan McLoughlin in 2019, while Shelton wed Gwen Stefani, his co-star from The Voice. In their joint statement announcing the divorce, Lambert and Shelton expressed, “This is not the future we envisioned, and it is with heavy hearts that we move forward separately,” requesting privacy and compassion.
Lambert’s first meeting with Shelton was at CMT’s 100 Greatest Duets Concert in 2005, where she felt an instant connection despite Shelton being married at the time.

Reflecting on her first marriage’s public nature, Lambert chose to keep her second marriage private, stating, “I was married before, and it was a huge wedding and everything was very public. So was my divorce. I learned then that it’s not for everybody else. This is my actual life.”

Both Lambert and Shelton have found happiness in their new relationships after their divorce.
