“I had lot of doubters”: Paige Bueckers reveals how she left the injury woes behind.
In her latest collaboration, Paige Bueckers teamed up with Google Chrome to give fans a glimpse into her digital pursuits. In a YouTube video posted on Oct. 22, Bueckers shared that she enjoys binge-watching her highlights.
The UConn star explained that watching her highlights helps her escape from tough games or rough patches, serving as a reminder of what she’s capable of on the court. She also discussed how her highlights helped her overcome her health challenges from last year.
“I actually do like watching my own highlights,” Bueckers said. “Especially when you’re out of season, and whenever, like, I’m having a bad day or a bad game. You just go back and remind yourself of, like, who you are at your best.”

“Not where my parents wanted me to go”: WNBA Legend Rebecca Lobo recollects how successful UConn career took flight
“Especially coming back from injury this year, I had a lot of doubters. So just to show them I’m actually better than I was before, it was amazing feeling.”
Paige Bueckers has dealt with multiple setbacks in her college career
In her freshman season, she averaged 20.0 points, 5.7 rebounds, 4.9 rebounds and 2.3 steals while making 46.4% of her 3s.
However, an ankle surgery delayed her progress in her sophomore season, which was also cut short because of a tibial plateau fracture and lateral meniscus tear. As a result, she only played 17 games that season, averaging just 14.6 ppg.
As Paige Bueckers prepared to come back stronger for her junior year, she suffered an ACL tear in her left knee. The instance occurred in the middle of the 2022 offseason during a friendly pick-up game.
She made a strong comeback, delivering her best college year yet, averaging 21.9 ppg, 21.9 rpg, 3.8 apg, 2.2 spg and 1.4 blocks per game while shooting 53.0%.
Bueckers is the frontrunner to be the first pick in the 2025 WNBA draft. She will aim to make a championship run with UConn in her final year in college.
