Fever Fans Claiming Caitlin Clark Sneak Dissed Christie Sides During Lisa Bluder Praise
Indiana Fever rookie Caitlin Clark won yet another award on Monday.
Per usual, Clark’s (remote) acceptance speech conveyed Clark as a humble, well-spoken superstar who’s deserving of this impressive accolade.
But one thing Clark said during the speech has fans believing she was taking a subtle dig at Indiana Fever head coach Christie Sides.
“I think that [the sisterhood at Iowa] is the reason we were as good as we were,” Clark said, per CBS Sports. “Coach Bluder, in my eyes, she’s the best leader I’ve ever been around in my life.”

“She knows how to build a team, she knows how to get individuals to work together,” Clark continued of Bluder.
“Sneaking dissing Sides,” one X user wrote in a reply to the X video of Clark’s acceptance speech.
“Even if it wasn’t an *intentional* dig, the message sure stands on its own and speaks volumes,” wrote another.
Clark surely wasn’t intentionally taking a shot at Sides. But Clark also made it clear she considers Bluder a better leader than her current coach.
