U.S. Warships Being Reloaded, Trump Says — Strikes Could Resume
“Loading Up the Ships”: Trump Issues Final Warning to Iran as U.S. Fleet Rearms for Potential “Epic Fury” Resumption
In a move that has escalated global tensions to a fever pitch, President Donald Trump has officially signaled that the United States military is in the process of rearming its naval assets in the Middle East, preparing to resume offensive operations if high-stakes diplomatic efforts fail. Speaking in a recent interview with the New York Post, the President confirmed that U.S. warships are currently being “loaded up” with superior ammunition and weaponry, describing the current lull in hostilities as a temporary ceasefire rather than a final peace.
The Strait of Hormuz: A Global Chokepoint Under Siege
The catalyst for this renewed military posture is the ongoing crisis in the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s most critical maritime corridors for oil transit. Normally, the strait sees a flow of 120 to 150 tankers daily; however, activity has plummeted to a mere fraction of that, with reports suggesting only a handful of ships are successfully navigating the waterway .
President Trump took to Truth Social to issue a direct ultimatum regarding reports that the Iranian regime has begun charging illegal “fees” to tankers attempting to pass through the international waters. “They better not be, and if they are, they better stop now,” the President warned, characterizing the regime’s actions as “short-term extortion of the world” . The White House maintains that the waterway belongs to no single nation and that the U.S. will use “hard power” to ensure it remains open to global commerce.
Diplomacy with a “Clenched Fist”
While the military reloads, the administration is simultaneously pursuing a diplomatic track. Vice President JD Vance is currently en route to Islamabad, Pakistan, to meet with negotiators in hopes of securing a formal deal . The administration’s negotiating team, which includes figures like Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff, is operating under a strategy of “hard power leverage.”
Vice President Vance expressed a cautious optimism but echoed the President’s stern tone: “If the Iranians are willing to negotiate in good faith, we’re certainly willing to extend the open hand. If they’re going to try to play us, then they’re going to find that the negotiating team is not that receptive” .
The U.S. objectives remain consistent with the four pillars of victory outlined at the start of the conflict:
Destruction of the Iranian Navy.
Elimination of the Iranian Air Force.
Neutralization of missile production and launch capabilities.
Total removal of Iran’s ability to go nuclear.

A “Rump Regime” in Retreat?
Military analysts suggest that the current ceasefire may be a result of “tyranny of distance”—the logistical challenge of sustaining a high-intensity bombing campaign far from primary resupply lines. The pause allows U.S. forces to cycle in new troops and replenish “beans and bullets” to prepare for a potentially more aggressive “Epic Fury” campaign.
The administration believes that the initial strikes have already crippled the regime’s command and control infrastructure. Reports indicate that over a thousand leaders from the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and Basij forces have been neutralized, leaving what the White House calls a “rump regime” flailing for survival.
The Global Stakes

The situation remains volatile as Iran’s Supreme Leader and his circle push back, claiming they are entering a “new era” of management for the Strait of Hormuz and considering all “fronts of resistance” as one. This defiance, coupled with the U.S. military buildup, suggests that the window for a diplomatic solution is closing rapidly.
As President Trump bluntly stated on Truth Social, “The only reason they are alive today is to negotiate”. Whether the “reloaded” warships will be forced to resume the “Epic Fury” campaign depends entirely on the outcome of the talks in Islamabad over the coming days.
