Becky Hammon Files Petition Demanding Investigation Into All Fever Games After Game 4 Loss: âThe Game Was Riggedâ
In a stunning turn of events following the Las Vegas Acesâ shocking Game 4 loss to the Indiana Fever, Aces head coach Becky Hammon has officially filed a petition demanding a full investigation into all games involving the Fever this postseason.
The move comes just hours after a heated postgame press conference in which Hammon bluntly claimed that âthe game was rigged.â
The Aces, defending WNBA champions and clear favorites heading into the series, were outplayed by a depleted Indiana Fever roster that was missing six players â including star rookie Caitlin Clark. Despite the odds, the Fever stunned the league by forcing a decisive Game 5 in the WNBA semifinals.
But for Hammon, the Fever’s win didnât sit right.

âWeâve played this team clean, hard, and fair â and now weâre supposed to believe that a team missing half its rotation suddenly dominates like that?â Hammon said. âSomething isnât adding up. We want answers.â
The Petition: A Serious Accusation
According to sources close to the league office, Hammon’s petition includes multiple claims of officiating bias, irregular foul calls, and questionable replay decisions that allegedly benefitted the Fever in multiple games. The document reportedly demands that the WNBA conduct a formal review of not only Game 4, but all of Indianaâs playoff performances thus far.
The WNBA has yet to issue a formal statement in response to the petition, but league insiders suggest this could open up an unprecedented review process â especially given the high-profile nature of both the teams and players involved.
Fever Stay Focused Amid Controversy

While Hammonâs accusations have set off a firestorm online, the Indiana Fever are staying focused. Players and coaches have not yet commented on the petition, but sources inside the locker room say the team is âusing the noise as fuel.â
Lexie Hull, who had a breakout performance in Game 4, appeared unfazed after the game, saying:
âWe donât listen to outside talk. We believe in each other. Thatâs why weâre here.â
Aliyah Boston and Kelsey Mitchell were also key in the Feverâs win, with Mitchell dropping a game-high 28 points while Boston limited Aces MVP Aâja Wilson to one of her quietest games of the postseason.
Whatâs Next?
Game 5 now looms even larger â not just for a spot in the WNBA Finals, but under the weight of controversy that threatens to overshadow the on-court battle. The WNBA has a decision to make: investigate the claims, or let the play do the talking.
Either way, all eyes will be on the court â and the headlines â as the drama continues to unfold.
