CeeDee Lamb’s 2-Word Warning to NFL as Patrick Mahomes’ Chiefs Announce $7M Move
In the quest for a 3-peat of Super Bowls, the Chiefs wanted to add as many good players as they could. So they brought Marquise’ Hollywood’ Brown from the Cardinals. It was a great strategic move by Andy Reid. But alas, he injured his shoulder in the preseason. And the sternoclavicular injury ended his regular season. But things have changed now. Chiefdom, brace yourselves for the good news as the recent development will make Patrick Mahomes and his teammates happy.
The Chiefs have activated their injured receiver Marquise ‘Hollywood’ Brown from the IR list. And the NFL world is excited to watch him on the gridiron. The Bengals WR CeeDee Lamb was one of those. He took to Instagram soon after hearing the news and posted a story that had Brown’s photo with a 2-word warning, “It’s timeeee.” It would indeed be thrilling to watch him play.
Patrick Mahomes would be on the Cloud 9. When Brown arrived at the franchise on a 1-year $7 million contract deal, the QB welcomed him with open arms. He had remarked then, “It is a great group that all mesh well together and so I’m excited for their future. The sky is the limit.” That was true. It was a good bond. And the team missed him during the season as they struggled to score points. But he practiced for all 3 days this week and looked healthy.
Everyone is excited about the WR making his regular season debut for the Chiefs. When asked if the 27-year-old will play against the Texans in the week 16 game, the HC replied, “Yeah, there’s a good chance on that.” Even Mahomes said that the receiver “looked great” in practice. That’s a significant sign. However, the Chiefdom is also worried about their quarterback too. He injured his ankle in the week 15 game against the Browns. It was scary for the fans.
Is Patrick Mahomes fully fit for the week 16 matchup?
When the Grim Reaper started limping against the Browns, the HC didn’t waste time to substitute Carson Wentz and pull him back. With playoffs only 15 days away, they can’t risk him being injured. But looks like his ankle is fine now. He returned to practice on Monday.
HC Andy Reid clarified the situation about Patrick Mahomes and said, “I know the questions are about Patrick. He worked out this week (in) full and will most likely end up playing.” That’s a big relief for his teammates, Chiefs staff, and the fans as well. They are really focused on winning this season. And can’t risk the NFL superstar sitting on the bench.
With both Marquise Brown and Xavier Worthy playing against the Texans, the QB will also have dual options to pass the ball. In 14 games (11 as a starting WR) in his rookie year, Worthy has recorded 44 receptions for 494 receiving yards with 4 touchdowns. He also has 3 rushing TDs. It would also give some time to Brown to get adjusted to the pressure.
The fans are excited to watch them in action. They are already at a 13-1 win-loss record. It’s the thrilling time of the season with Christmas around the corner.
