Kamilla Cardoso candidly responds to fan asking her to “come to Indiana”.

Kamilla Cardoso sat out the Chicago Sky’s final two regular season games due to a shoulder injury. Cardoso’s absence could not have come at a worse time for the team. Already without Angel Reese for a couple of weeks, the Sky limped to the finish line and failed to make the playoffs.

Cardoso’s season started as it ended – on the bench with a shoulder injury. But Sky fans saw her improve as the season progressed. They should be excited to see the sophomore year of the 6-foot-7 Brazilian.

Kamilla Cardoso went on TikTok to engage with basketball fans. Somebody urged her to “come to Indiana” now that the season is over. Cardoso didn’t hold back in her reply:

“I heard there’s not a lot to do in Indiana. How much you throw in Chicago?”

The rivalry between the Chicago Sky and the Indiana Fever is deeply rooted now. Cardoso went to Indiana twice this season to face the Fever, losing both games. Indiana fans booed the Sky in Chicago’s visits at Gainbridge FieldHouse Arena. Cardoso seemed to troll the fan who wanted her to go to a rival’s place.

Kamilla Cardoso’s WNBA debut was in Indiana

Kamila Cardoso injured her shoulder following the Chicago Sky’s preseason game against the Minnesota Lynx. The Brazilian sat out for nearly a month before debuting in Indiana against Caitlin Clark and the Fever.

Cardoso played 18 minutes off the bench and finished with 11 points and six rebounds. The Sky lost 71-70 but their fans were excited with her performance coming off a long injury layoff.

The Chicago Sky returned to Indiana for a rematch with the Fever roughly two weeks later. Kamilla Cardoso, now the starter, played much better, posting 10 points, 10 rebounds and two assists. She and former South Carolina teammate and current Indiana star Aliyah Boston had several one-on-one duels.

Like the first meeting, the Sky lost 91-83 as Boston put up 19 points, 14 rebounds, five blocks and four assists. Caitlin Clark finished with 23 points, nine assists, eight rebounds and two blocks.

Kamilla Cardoso’s only win against the Indiana Fever was in Chicago. The Sky eked out an 88-87 victory behind Angel Reese’s monster 25-point, 16-rebound night. Indiana, though, would have the last laugh, blasting the Sky in “Chi-Town” on “Barbie Night” in late August.
