Jason Kelce had to choose between his former team and his brother Travis Kelce’s team when the Philadelphia Eagles took on the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX on Sunday.
“Even though I’m decked out in Eagles gear, I’m always going to root for Travis,” Jason said on the brothers’ podcast, “New Heights,” ahead of the big game. “But there’s a lot of people in the Philadelphia organization, whether it’s players, coaches, people in the building, that feel like extended family to me, especially my former linemen.”
Kelce’s continued connection to his former NFL team was examined harshly on social media Sunday night. After the Eagles dominated the Chiefs 40-22 to win the franchise’s second Lombardi Trophy, rowdy celebrations erupted in Philadelphia.

Kelce, who played all 13 seasons of his NFL career in Philadelphia, was asked to justify the behavior of the fan base, particularly in response to video of a disgraceful gesture from a group of fans toward Travis’ girlfriend, Taylor Swift.
Warning: The following video contains sensitive content and inappropriate language.
“Can you explain this fan base in NH @JasonKelce,” asked a reply to the video.
“@JasonKelce this your people????” implored a user.
“I hope @JasonKelce sees this,” wrote a response.
“@JasonKelce Still proud of your Eagles?” said another. “Shameful! Can’t even win with class.”
Unfortunately, it was not the only example of Swift being targeted on Super Bowl Sunday while she was simply trying to support her boyfriend. She was loudly booed by the crowd inside the Superdome when she was shown on the Jumbotron during the game.
Despite the mounting pressure on social media, Jason Kelce has not answered any of the questions publicly posed to him at the time of publishing.
