With Patrick Mahomes dominating the NFL and taking over from Tom Brady, talkSPORT takes a holiday look at his 12 most important life moments.
It’s hard for Mahomes to leave us speechless these days, yet he still finds a way, time and again.

There’s no one like him.
He has a bag of tricks that is as deep as the Pacific.
And in that bag, is his patented ‘no-look’ pass.
A trick that goes all the way back to his college days, at Texas Tech.
Since then, the star quarterback has busted it out in key moments, dropping everyone’s jaw each and every time.
It’s a simple trick, that few can replicate.
Look one way, but throw the football somewhere else.
Sounds simple, right?
It’s anything but.
It would be reckless for just about any other quarterback on the planet to try it.
but head coach Andy Reid doesn’t mind when his guy does it.

Because his guy is one of one.
“He’s comfortable doing it,” Reid told ESPN in 2018, when Mahomes tried it for the first time.
“This is the NFL, and he’s doing it. It’s one thing to do it in practice.
and then you start throwing it in a game.
and a game against the No. 1 defense in the National Football League, that’s a little different.
“You have to have tremendous confidence in what you’re doing there.”
Reid has the utmost faith in his quarterback.
And a reminder, he said all of this in 2018.
Before the MVPs, before the Super Bowls.
Reid knew something the rest of the world didn’t, he knew Mahomes would make the extraordinary look ordinary.
“He’s got a knack for that,” Reid said.
“He’s able to decipher the defense and kind of know where his guys are.
“You’ve got to put in the speed of the player and all those things.
He’s able to get that all spit and calculated out in his brain. He’s got a knack for it.”
Reid even went so far as to compare Mahomes and the no-look pass to one of the greatest baseball players of all time.
and one of his old tricks.
Ranking the Most Powerful Names in US Sports including Simone Biles, Jake Paul, Lionel Messi, Patrick Mahomes, LeBron James and more
“You heard this about Ted Williams, the baseball player.
that he could read the stitches on the baseball,” Reid said.
He went on to talk about the star quarterbacks he’s coached in the past and how Mahomes compares to them.
“Certain guys have vision,” Reid said.
“They can see. [Mahomes] does have real good vision.
I haven’t seen a lot of guys do that.
I was around [Brett] Favre, who did some amazing things that way and Donovan [McNabb] and those guys.
“But not quite like that.”
There is only one Mahomes.
Reid saw it before the rest of us did.
Five years and two MVPs and three Super Bowl wins later, the no-look pass still amazes.
