Restaurant Staff Bullied Elderly Man By Throwing Him Out, Unaware Connor McDavid Was Watching in Secret
An ordinary evening at a popular restaurant turned extraordinary when Edmonton Oilers captain Connor McDavid intervened in a shocking act of mistreatment. The NHL superstar witnessed staff bullying an elderly man, and what he did next left everyone speechless.
The elderly man, Mr. Harris, entered the restaurant with hopes of enjoying a quiet meal. Politely requesting a table by the window, he was met with sneers from the staff. His modest appearance led the manager to dismiss him rudely, saying, “We’re full tonight—this isn’t the place for someone like you.” Despite Mr. Harris explaining he was a regular customer, the staff mocked him and forced him to leave.
Unbeknownst to them, Connor McDavid was dining in a corner booth, quietly observing the entire exchange. As the elderly man was ushered out, McDavid stood and approached the manager, his calm demeanor underpinned by firm resolve. “Why was that man treated like that?” he asked. The manager stammered excuses, but McDavid didn’t waver. “Everyone deserves respect. You can’t treat people this way.”

McDavid stepped outside, found Mr. Harris on a bench, and invited him back inside as his guest. Together, they enjoyed a meal, with McDavid ensuring Mr. Harris felt valued and respected. The restaurant staff, now realizing who McDavid was, scrambled to make amends, but the damage was done.
The story went viral after a fellow diner shared it online, praising McDavid’s actions. The NHL star later commented, “It’s not about fame—it’s about doing the right thing. Everyone deserves dignity.”
McDavid’s act of kindness reminds us that true leadership extends beyond the rink. In a world often lacking compassion, he proved that small gestures of respect can make an enormous impact.
Wild’s Marcus Johansson Exits Oilers Game After Connor McDavid Caught Him With A Chicken Wing
Wild forward Marcus Johansson left the game against the Oilers with an upper-body injury.
ST. PAUL – The injuries just keep coming for the Wild. Marcus Johansson was the latest Wild player to get hurt. It came at the end of the second period.
Johansson, 34, has played in 44 of the team’s 45 games this year. He has five goals and 16 points.

The 6-foot-1 forward was in the defensive zone when he caught an elbow from Edmonton Oilers forward Connor McDavid. Johansson immediately fell over and his helmet also came off later.
There was no penalty on the play despite McDavid sticking his elbow out, on what looked like to be on purpose. Wild head coach John Hynes wanted an explanation from referee Dan O’Rourke but didn’t get one.
After the period ended, Mats Zuccarello and Joel Eriksson Ek went over to Chris Lee to get a word on why it wasn’t called.
Johansson played 10:49 of the game and did not return for the third period.
