Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and tight end Travis Kelce are gearing up to open their highly anticipated steakhouse, 1587 Prime, later this year. The restaurant, developed in partnership with hospitality group Noble 33, is slated to open inside the stylish Loews Kansas City Hotel in Summer 2025, just ahead of the NFL season.
A Taste Test to Remember
Ahead of the grand opening, Mahomes and Kelce recently got a sneak peek at what their guests can expect. The duo took part in a taste test of the steak that will be featured on the 1587 Prime menu — and according to all reports, it didn’t disappoint. The Story Behind 1587 Prime
The buzz around 1587 Prime began in March 2024, with fans eagerly awaiting updates. The name “1587” is a nod to Mahomes and Kelce’s jersey numbers — 15 and 87 — combining their on-field identities into a signature culinary venture. The restaurant will span two floors and cover 10,000 square feet, offering several private dining rooms and a “jaw-dropping” meat display as its centerpiece. Diners can also expect multi-sensory dining experiences and subtle design touches that pay tribute to the superstar owners.
Bringing Something Special to Kansas City
Kelce, 35, confirmed in April 2024 that he and Mahomes, 29, are targeting a grand opening in 2025. He called the project an “unbelievable opportunity” and emphasized their desire to give back to the city that’s supported them throughout their careers.
“[It’s] just another thing that we want to bring to Kansas City, to be able to show our appreciation for the city, knowing how much they love their food and how much they love their football,” Kelce told.
Mahomes echoed the sentiment in a company release, saying, “Travis and I have become frequent visitors of Noble 33 restaurants in other cities, so it only made sense to bring something special to our own community in Kansas City.”

After the Chiefs’ 40-22 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LIX this past February, Kelce embraced his role as “Uncle Travie” when his brother, former NFL star Jason Kelce, welcomed his fourth daughter, Finnley “Finn” Anne Kelce, with wife Kylie Kelce on March 30.
