Gary Bettman and the NHL will have to intervene quickly following Taylor Hall‘s dangerous hit on Lane Hutson in Game 2 between the Canadiens and the Hurricanes.

They are obligated to!
Several analysts and fans noticed that the Hurricanes forward clearly targeted the knee of the young star defenseman for the Canadiens, and Hall is absolutely not new to this kind of play.
We truly have reason to believe he attempted to injure Hutson on this sequence.
And this is precisely the kind of play that deserves an immediate suspension from the Department of Player Safety.
“Hall clearly leading with his fucking knee here”
The comments appear unanimous.
“Taylor Hall seems to have targeted Lane Hutson’s knee on this play.”

Taylor Hall’s hit on Lane Hutson puts NHL discipline under pressure before Game 3

The footage is damning for Taylor Hall.
The Hurricanes forward is clearly leading with his knee while delivering the hit.
And on top of that, the contact occurs directly with Lane Hutson’s knee in a vulnerable area!
This is exactly the kind of play that can destroy a playoff run.
This is precisely the kind of sequence the NHL has been trying to eliminate for years. Knee-on-knee hits are considered among the most dangerous plays in the sport.
And George Parros will now have the opportunity to demonstrate his seriousness by punishing Taylor Hall as he deserves.
But the recent history of the Department of Player Safety is not reassuring either.
It now remains to be seen whether the NHL will actually discipline Taylor Hall as he deserves.
Or if George Parros will once again turn a blind eye to a dangerous play directed at a Canadiens player.
Game 3 will be played Monday night at the Bell Centre. And the potential absence of Lane Hutson could completely change the dynamic of this Eastern Conference Final.
