Caitlin Clark Reveals True Feelings About WNBA Return
Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever are set to return to the court in less than two weeks following the WNBA’s hiatus for the 2024 Paris Olympics.
After the Fever’s practice on Tuesday, Clark spoke with the media, sharing her thoughts on the return of the WNBA season.
Clark believes the break has been great for helping her recover from any physical battles, as she was able to rest throughout the Olympic intermission.

While she explained that she admired the rest period, Clark also mentioned that she was ready to get back on the hardwood, having participated in constant games and practices during her time at the collegiate level.
“I’m just going to try to come back and compete and hopefully have a little more legs under me,” Clark said. “Have a little more rest under me… I feel like I’m ready to get back out there and get playing, but that’s probably because that’s really all I’ve known over the course of the last years.”
The young star has been under the spotlight of the women’s basketball world for years. She was widely viewed as one of the best athletes in the NCAA during her time with the Iowa Hawkeyes from 2020-24.
Clark entered the league as the No. 1 pick in the 2024 WNBA draft. She faced immense pressure, with many labeling her a “generational talent” at 22 years old.
Despite that pressure, the first-year star is averaging 17.1 points and 8.2 assists per game, leading the Fever in both categories.
She joined Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese as the only rookies to make the Team WNBA All-Star game roster.
As Clark explained that she’s ready to get back out there and compete, part of that competition will come against Reese in the WNBA’s Rookie of the Year debate.
