‘She’s so bad’: Angel Reese comments as Caitlin Clark continues to struggle in blowout loss

The rivalry between Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark once again dominated headlines after the Indiana Fever suffered a 113-96 defeat to the Atlanta Dream, marking their second straight loss to Reese’s team in just a few days.

Clark endured another difficult outing, with her shooting struggles continuing and turnovers proving costly. The Fever star was heavily criticized on social media following the game, with one viral post bluntly stating, “She’s so bad,” as fans reacted to her rough performance and ball-security issues.

Meanwhile, Reese and the Dream continued their strong form. The Atlanta forward added another impressive all-around performance and reached the milestone of 1,000 career rebounds faster than any player in WNBA history. Reese’s achievement came as Atlanta improved to 11-4 and strengthened its position near the top of the standings.

The latest chapter in the Clark-Reese rivalry has been filled with intensity. Their previous meeting earlier in the week included on-court exchanges and a moment in which Reese appeared to mock Clark after a foul call, fueling debate among fans and media alike.

Despite Clark’s offensive struggles, she remained one of Indiana’s primary playmakers and has consistently drawn attention because of her impact on the league and the Fever’s fortunes. However, back-to-back losses have increased pressure on Indiana and led some fans to question the team’s direction under head coach Stephanie White.

While criticism surrounding Clark has intensified, the Fever guard has previously shown an ability to rebound from poor stretches. The spotlight surrounding both Clark and Reese continues to elevate interest in the WNBA, with every meeting between the two stars generating significant discussion across the basketball world.

Caitlin Clark on her basketball journey: “I still have so much room to improve”

In a recent interview, Clark talks about how much she can grow in her sport, her relationship with coach Stephanie White, and her obsession with work

Even after a season mired in injury, the basketball world’s attention has remained focused on Caitlin Clark, a player who has become the face of the modern WNBA.

Injuries limited her to just 13 games in 2025, after her debut 2024 WNBA season took her from prospect to global star.

The two-time All-Star believes she has achieved only part of what she thinks she can.

“I’ve only played 60 games in this league, and I’ve played two playoff games,” she told ESPN.

“To a lot of people it may feel like I’ve played a lot more, and to me, it kind of feels like I’ve played a lot more. Obviously, I missed three-fourths of the season last year, so I worked so hard to try and get back to basketball again.

At the same time, I’m only 24; I still have so much room to improve. I want to get better, I want to learn.”

Early into a WNBA season in which the Fever will hope to win the championship, and ahead of the FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup in September, where the USA will have the same goal, it makes for fascinating reading.

The hoops phenom had a record-breaking college career and has ignited the WNBA but do you know about her pre-game superstition?

Already this season, Clark has played more games than she did in the whole of 2025.

In the process, she has flexed her improved defensive metrics. In the second half of May 2026, she defended more isolations (34) over a four-game span than any other player since she joined the WNBA.

I’m obsessed with the work,” Clark said.

“I come in every single day, put in the work and get things done because I want to be the best player in the world. I want to help this team win, and this franchise win.

But I don’t think it’s an obsession with winning; it’s obsessed with all the time you put in. When you really crave getting better, that’s what is going to help you win championships.”

Caitlin Clark on coach Stephanie White

Of the games Clark has played in the WNBA, 40 of them were under Christie Sides as head coach. Now, in a different era of the Indiana Fever, head coach Stephanie White has taken charge.

While their relationship has caught headlines, there is an evident mutual respect between the two.

“Her competitive fire is the same as mine,” Clark explains. “We’ll go at it, but at the end of the day we love each other. There’s no one else you want to go to war with.

“I think I’m easy to coach, but maybe difficult too. I don’t think there are many people that get guarded the way I do, so I think you have to get creative, scheme-wise.

“I don’t think there’s a better person to do that than coach Steph. I love her.”
