Caitlin Clark’s Immediate Four-Word Reaction After Indiana Fever’s Game 2 Win
No Caitlin Clark, no problem for the Indiana Fever on Tuesday night.
It was do-or-die for the Fever at Gainbridge Fieldhouse as they hosted the Atlanta Dream for Game 2 of their first-round WNBA playoff series. A loss would have marked the end of the season for Indiana, and they made sure that this would not be the case in front of a capacity home crowd. The Fever dominated Game 2, securing a wire-to-wire 77-60 victory, thereby forcing a winner-take-all Game 3 clash on Thursday at Atlanta.

Clark was one of the Fever’s most active cheerleaders on the bench on Tuesday night. The two-time All-Star, who was shut down for the year due to a groin injury, was up on her feet for pretty much the entire game, rallying behind her teammates.
After the win, Clark had a four-word message heading into Game 3.

“See you in Atlanta,” she said to the camera as the Fever made their way back to the locker room.
It was Kelsey Mitchell who led the way for Indiana in Clark’s stead, as has been the case for the majority of the season, with Clark being limited to just 13 games. Mitchell followed up her 27-point explosion in Game 1 with a game-high 19 points on Tuesday. The three-time All-Star also registered four triples, four assists, two steals and a block
Caitlin Clark Struggled for Words After Fever-Dream Game 2
Clark could not find the words to describe watching the Fever from the bench in the WNBA playoffs.
Caitlin Clark watched from the bench on Tuesday night as the Indiana Fever beat the Atlanta Dream 77-60 to force a Game 3 in their first-round WNBA playoff series.
It was the Fever’s first playoff win since 2015, while marking the first home playoff game at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis since 2016. Clark, who is out for the rest of the season with a groin injury, did her part to make sure it was a special occasion.
Did the Pacers Just Pull Off the Greatest Playoff Comeback EVER?
Her teammates did the rest. The Fever were led by 19 points from guard Kelsey Mitchell, 15 points from center Aliyah Boston and 12 points from forward Natasha Howard. On defense, they held Atlanta to 37.9 percent from the field and a measly 26.3 percent from three.
The biggest bucket of the game was made by Fever guard Lexie Hull, who ended the third quarter with a three-pointer that set Gainbridge Fieldhouse on fire.
“Can’t explain what I felt in this moment,” Clark said on X after seeing the play on video.
Hull’s triple capped a 5-0 run over the final 10 seconds of the third quarter to extend Indiana’s lead to 15, their largest of the night at that point.
“That was great for us,” Boston said after the game, trying to put words to the play that Clark could not. “The energy, everyone felt it. The crowd was going crazy. We used that momentum into the fourth.”

It is not as though Clark has not felt the energy of massive, enthusiastic crowds before. The former Iowa Hawkeyes standout played in front of the largest single-game crowd (55,646) in women’s basketball history at Kinnick Stadium.
The Indiana Fever led the WNBA in combined home and away attendance this season for the second straight year since they drafted Clark No. 1 overall in 2024.
The final game of the series will be on the home floor of the Dream at Gateway Center in College Park, Ga. Game 3 tips off at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday on ESPN2.
