Angel Reese is Trending After Getting Thrown On Top of Chennedy Carter
On Friday,Ā Angel ReeseĀ and theĀ Chicago SkyĀ were defeated by Alyssa Thomas and the Connecticut Sun 82-80. The Sky fell to 11-17 on the season while the Sun jumped to 21-7.
With four minutes left in the game, Sky guard Chennedy Carter went down under the basket in some pain after attempting a shot. The Sky got the ball back, and while Michaela Onyenwere was attempting a move to the basket, Reese was shoved to the floor by Thomas, landing on top of Carter’s leg.

The referees reviewed the play to see if it was a flagrant foul, but was ultimately deemed a personal on Thomas.
Carter was down for a few seconds but did not miss any playing time. She finished with 19 points on 7-of-18 shooting, six rebounds and four assists.
Reese had another great game on the boards but struggled with her shot. She tallied 13 points on 25% shooting and 20 rebounds. This marked the second straight game with 20 rebounds for the former LSU Tigers star.
Reese and the Sky will take on theĀ Las Vegas Aces in their next game on Sunday, August 25. They have now lost three of their four games following the Olympic break and are in danger of losing their playoff position. No. 9 seed Atlanta Dream stands at 10-18.
