Sunday’s matchup between the Las Vegas Aces and the Indiana Fever has caught the fans’ attention in a special way.

The game witnessed a remarkable block by A’ja Wilson when rookie Caitlin Clark was about to throw in a bucket. It happened during the first quarter of the game with the Aces improvising on their 2-point lead over Fever.

This move by the Aces’ center is making rounds over the internet. Somewhere along the way, a fan page, to Wilson’s discovery, has ignored a very important detail, leaving her displeased.

A’ja Wilson is on the lookout

“Bump the block I’m weak at this page calling my dad a fan. He’s def a SUPER fan,” writes A’ja Wilson in her Instagram stories, disapproving of a fan page for mistaking her father as a fan. Reportedly, a video was posted on that fan page, showcasing A’ja Wilson blocking Caitlin Clark’s layup shot and Wilson’s father having an expressive reaction to it.

The video has been captioned, “Fan can’t believe his eyes as A’ja Wilson raises up and blocks Caitlin Clark’s shot. That felt personal. NOT IN MY HOUSE”

On reading the caption, many fans flooded the comment section. One of them said, “Lmao that’s not just a fan that’s Mr. Roscoe, A’jas dad.” Another one said, “That’s her literal father coaching from the sideline.” While, a fan took the criticism to another level saying, “You guys are so ridiculous.. That’s A’ja’s dad this is why some people should not have a social media page.”

For Wilson, the game turned out to be historical as she registered another milestone in her WNBA career by scoring 100+ points and 50+ rebounds in just 4 games into the season. With this feat, she became the fastest WNBA player to achieve these stats in just 193 games, leading the list that also includes Angel McCoughtry, and Breanna Stewart.

But before setting the season in motion, the Aces star collaborated with other WNBA giants for her recent CarMax campaign.

Wilson showcasing her skills off the court

With the 2024 WNBA season’s tip-off, CarMax launched its brand new campaign, ‘Never Settle’, featuring A’ja Wilson along with Sue Bird, Chiney Ogwumike, and Sabrina Ionescu. The nation’s largest retailer of used cars went ahead to make the campaign oriented towards women’s sports.

As one of W’s proud partners, the brand embodies its role as WNBA’s Changemaker, giving out its message of ‘Never Settling’ through these athletes as they never settled for anything less in their careers.

As a result, they turned out to be perfect partners to show its customers that they too shouldn’t settle for anything less. So far, only the first spot of the campaign, including Sabrina Ionescu, has been released. The other spots will be released as the season moves forward.
