The Chicago Sky star has turned things around and become a force in basketball.

Angel Reese continues her meteoritic rise as one of the biggest names in the WNBA.
While the league gears up for its new season, Reese has been strutting her stuff in the Unrivaled League in the meantime as she continues to develop her skills on the court.
It’s a long way from Reese’s childhood growing up in Baltimore, Maryland. That’s where she was raised by her mother and her maternal grandparents.
In a recent podcast episode, the 22-year-old shed light on her childhood and how she wasn’t always on her best behaviour growing up.
She revealed that she would even go so far as to call the police when she had disagreements with her babysitter.
“My mom used to get p*****. I used to call the police on my babysitter. I was calling the police on her. I didn’t want to stay there. I didn’t want her watching me. That’s why,” said Reese.
Reese noted how her and her brother would cause headaches for their mom, though one incident ultimately resulted in them changing their mindset.
“Me and my brother, I guess, were so bad. She acts like she drafted paperwork to send us to foster home. We were on our best behavior ever since,” said Reese.
Reese has grown since then
While she may have been a handful at times when growing up, Reese ultimately found a way forward thanks to basketball.
After starring in youth leagues and then high school, she went on to play for Maryland for two years. From there she transferred to LSU, where she won a national title in 2023 after taking down Caitlin Clark’s Iowa Hawkeyes.
Since then Reese has found a home with the Chicago Sky in the WNBA, and is currently playing for Rose BC in the Unrivaled League.
She is clearly loving the life that basketball has given her, recently writing on social media: “I can’t never stop making money ’cause I love to ball REESE.”
