Angel Reese flexed her new nickname as she starred and narrated an advert for Beats by Dr. Dre alongside sports superstars including Lionel Messi and LeBron James.
Angel Reese showed off the new company she keeps as she flexed her new nickname alongside some of sports biggest stars.
The Chicago Sky star enjoyed a record-breaking WNBA rookie season last year as her impact on-court has helped drive the reputation and popularity of the league. Reese has now landed herself a massive deal with Beats by Dr. Dre and starred as the narrator of their ‘Athletes Get It,’ advert.
Reese narrated over a plethora of the world’s most talented athletes across all sports before making an appearance herself. The star-studded line-up included Inter Miami star Lionel Messi, NBA legend LeBron James, Manchester City striker Erling Haaland, MLB World Series winner Shohei Ohtani, tennis star Naomi Osaka, Olympic gold medalist Sha’Carri Richardson, former F1 driver Daniel Ricciardo, Olympic climber Miho Nonaka, Colorado College quarterback Shedeur Sanders, and Los Angeles Lakers starlet Bronny James.
The advert began with eight-time Ballon d’Or winner Messi wearing Beats headphones while he dribbles and scores past a goalkeeper, with Reese saying: “Listen, it’s called chasing your dreams for a reason. You gotta go get it.” The former LSU starlet then calls out a nickname for each athlete as they feature on the screen wearing Beats headphones.
After Colorado Buffaloes quarterback Sanders appears in the video, Reese is then shown staring into the camera as she flicks a basketball between her fingers. Reese also called out a new nickname for herself: ‘Walking Double-Doubles,’ in reference to her record-breaking double-double success in the WNBA last season.
Reese became the fastest rookie player in WNBA history to record 20 double-doubles back in August. Despite the Sky losing 86-68 to the Phoenix Mercury, Reese scored 19 points and registered 20 rebounds to break the record. Reese finished the season with 26 double-doubles, the second most in a season in the league’s history.
The Sky sensation also set the WNBA record for consecutive double-doubles in a single season with 10 straight before extending the record to 13 straight. Her accolades in her rookie season continued, as she set single-season league records with an average highest 13.1 rebounds per game, 446 rebounds in 34 games, and 172 offensive rebounds in 34 games.
Unfortunately, Reese’s season was cut short prematurely after she suffered a wrist injury that required surgery. Reese revealed she had a “small crack” in a bone and missed the Sky’s final WNBA games. Despite her form, Chicago were unable to make the postseason.
Reese’s collaboration with Beats comes just days after she agreed a multi-year contract extension on her endorsement deal with Reebok, including a signature shoe that will be released in 2026. She also has endorsements with Reese’s Pieces and Good American.
