Angel Reese has ‘main character syndrome’, claims Dave Portnoy – who tells WNBA star to ‘shut the f*** up’ after latest Caitlin Clark comments.
Dave Portnoy did not hold back on his comments about Angel Reese after losing to Caitlin Clark for the second time in the WNBA.
On Sunday, Reese and the Chicago Sky suffered a 91-83 loss to the Indiana Fever, with Clark’s 23-point performance – parlayed with nine assists and eight rebounds – leading the way. The loss was a rematch of their June 1 meeting, which Indiana won 71-70.
Although Reese put up a double-double with 11 points and 13 rebounds, her game was highlighted by a flagrant 1 after hitting Clark in the head as she drove to the basket in the third quarter. Reese’s postgame remarks did not help her case, as she accused officials of having ‘special whistles’.
After Jason Whitlock called Reese delusional and Skip Bayless suggested she was jealous of Clark, the Barstool Sports chief threw more verbal haymakers toward the former LSU star.
‘Caitlin Clark takes the high road, and all Angel Reese does after the game is take shots at her,’ Portnoy said.

Dave Portnoy claimed that Chicago Sky rookie Angel Reese has ‘main character syndrome’
‘That’s a flagrant, so shut up, Angel Reese,’ he exclaimed. ‘You can’t have your cake. All she does is complain [and] whine. She has the main character syndrome. You aren’t Caitlin. You’re never gonna be Caitlin. So shut the f*** up. And own it.’
Rather than accepting the loss and taking responsibility for hitting her rival in the head, Reese used her postgame press conference to critique the officiating. She also claimed her team was ‘playing hard’ as they turned the burners on Clark again after their controversial June 1 meeting.
‘I think we were playing really hard,’ Reese said. ‘I think we went up really strong a lot of times, and we didn’t get a lot of calls.’
‘And going back and looking at the film, I’ve seen a lot of calls that weren’t made,’ she continued. ‘I guess some people got a special whistle.’

Portnoy told Reese she would ‘never be Caitlin [Clark]’ and to ‘own’ her flagrant 1 foul

Reese was charged with a flagrant 1 after hitting Clark in the face in their loss to Indiana

Clark nearly tallied a triple-double with 23 points, nine assists, and eight rebounds in the win
With much criticism already working against Reese due to her comments, Portnoy suggested he would ‘respect it’ if the forward admitted to maliciously fouling the much smaller rookie sensation.
‘Be like: ‘Yeah, I hate that girl, I had her shut.’ Basketball play my a**’. ‘I knew I could wack her in the head and knock her over, so that’s what I did.’ Then I’d respect it,’ Portnoy added.
His not-so-PG tirade comes after he tweeted unfiltered reactions during Sunday’s game.
After Dana Evans hooked Clark’s arm on her way to the basket, Portnoy posted the play and wrote: ‘Chicago Sky doing Chicago Sky stuff.’
‘Shocker. Angelo Reese and the Sky doing Angel Reese and Sky stuff,’ he wrote following Reese’s hard foul. ‘By the way Caitlin is cooking them.’
The victory moved the Fever to two straight wins and a 5-10 record. Meanwhile, The Sky have lost their last four games and are 4-9 this season.
