Angel Reese laid out the reason why she still is single after laying down the criteria for her next partner.
While Reese played at LSU, the star forward dated fellow college basketball player Cam’Ron Fletcher. However, the two split in March 2024, with Reese remaining single since then, despite rumors floating around that the 22-year-old was in a relationship with various NBA players.
As Reese continues to live the single life, the Chicago Sky star laid out what she looks for in a new potential partner. Speaking to reporters after an Unrivaled game, Reese laid out specific stipulations for those wanting to court the 22-year-old basketball star.
“I have a standard of what I live up to and how I live my life,” she told reporters. “And as long as you can meet up to that and meet up to my expectations, then yeah.
“Don’t be going out of your way and trying to buy me stuff you can’t afford. Like I said, know what you’re getting yourself into. That’s like going in the store and buying a Louis Vuitton bag that’s $3,000, but you can’t buy it twice. So like I said, know what you’re getting yourself into.”
Reese’s recent criteria also are in line with what she said in past though with a slight twist. During an episode of her ‘Unapologetically Angel’ podcast, Reese shared that any prospective suitor must be at least “6-foot-7 or 6-foot-8” and had to have more substance than just money.

“They have to bring something completely different to the table. There’s nothing you can buy me, that I can’t buy myself,” she said at the time. And while her skills have taken basketball fans by storm, Reese also mentioned rumors that floated around claiming she was dating Phoenix Suns star Kevin Durant.
“That was never a thing,” Reese said. “I don’t even know how that even became a thing because I sat next to somebody. My friend was sitting next to Steph [Curry]. I don’t even get that. I don’t even know where that came from. KD has been my favorite player since I was a kid and is still my favorite player. He’s from the DMV, I love his mom, she comes out and supports the game.”
For now, Reese is focused on Rose BC, her Unrivaled team, and helping them reach the playoffs after a less-than-stellar start to the season. After winning only one of their first five games, Rose has rattled off five straight wins, thanks in part to Reese’s impressive play of late.
In the winning streak, Reese has averaged of 15.8 points, 15.4 rebounds, and 2.4 assists a game. After Rose’ most recent win over Phantom BC, Reese explained that she was playing with a “chip on her shoulder” to prove the doubters wrong.
“Five-game winning streak, we keep going,” Reese said after the most recent win. “They ranked us at the bottom. We was the last team, nobody believed in us. We believed in each other in the locker room, so we just keep proving each other right, come in every day and work, [and] the work shows.”
