‘Can’t wait to go back’ – Angel Reese seeks WNBA return after slamming Unrivaled and making history for all wrong reasons.

Angel Reese made history on Saturday in Unrivaled.

The 22-year-old star became the first player in the new 3-on-3 professional basketball league to be ejected from a game.

Reese was thrown out during the second quarter of Rose Basketball Club’s matchup against Vinyl Basketball Club.

It started when she was called for a foul against Tiffany Hayes, which was followed by a technical foul after making an offensive gesture toward a referee.

The final straw broke when she started pleading her innocence, which saw Reese handed a second technical and tossed out of the game.

“Angel Reese was just tossed,” analyst Sarah Kustok said in disbelief shocked that an ejection actually was given.

The broadcast quickly cut to Reese who was visibly frustrated as she waved her hands and walked to the locker room.

The ejection shocked everyone in attendance, with the nature of Unrivaled meaning heated exchanges aren’t exactly expected.

The off-season league is made up of 36 players and is played in a 3×3 format, meaning it’s expected to more laid-back in comparison to the competitive nature of the WNBA.

Nevertheless, the ejection occurred and Reese did not wait to criticise the call and the coverage of it.

“Can’t wait to go back to Chicacgo,” Reese posted on X in reply to a fan who said the “refs are out of their mind” for ejecting her.

“Happy BHM. yall know i had to be the first”, the 22-year-old joked after becoming the first player to be ejected in the league’s history.

“Clickbait. Everything I do keep going viral,” Reese posted in a reply to an article that covered her ejection with the title “Angel Reese became the first player to be ejected from an Unrivaled game.”

She also reposted footage of her smiling and laughing at the side of the court after being ejected.

“Free me,” she captioned the post.

The final post in a series of comments about her ejection ended with her saying, “Let me get off here before Jeanine [her marketing rep] come deactivate my account.”

Reese has overall been a staunch admirer of Unrivaled, which pays all players a minimum six-figure salary.

The 22-year-old was having a good game when she was tossed, registering six points on 2-of-7 shooting, 15 rebounds and three assists in seven minutes of action.

Luckily for her, Reese’s removal from the game was not too costly as her team went on to win 83-69.

That victory means Rose’s record is now 2-4, with eight games left to play in a season that runs through mid-March.
