Aces Coach Becky Hammon Drops Blunt Comment on Caitlin Clark Talking Trash
The WNBA has a stacked line up of games on June 27. Before the Indiana Fever take on the Seattle Storm, the Chicago Sky hosts the league’s back-to-back champions, the Las Vegas Aces.
Aces head coach Becky Hammon and Sky head coach Teresa Weatherspoon gave a joint press conference ahead of their matchup at Winturst Arena.
During the discussion, the topic of this year’s rookie class, in particular the rivalry between Sky forward Angel Reese and Fever guard Caitlin Clark came up in conversation. Speaking to reporters, Hammon defended Reese against some undue criticism.
“At the end of the day, they’re super skilled, they’re fun to watch, and they jaw at each other. People be like, ‘Oh, Angel’s talking… and I’m like, no one talks more crap than Caitlin, too!”
“It’s just a different generation,” Hammon continued. “I think we talked subtly… the be talking in your face.” While Hammon talked, Weatherspoon nodded her head with a smile and laughed.
