Brad Marchand and the Florida Panthers are through to the next round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
After a dominant 6–1 win in Game 7 over the Toronto Maple Leafs, Marchand couldn’t resist rubbing some salt in Paul Bissonnette’s wounds—with a hilarious live TV joke.

Marchand made NHL history on Sunday. With the Panthers’ win, he became the first player in league history to win five winner-take-all games against the same franchise.
Marchand has been a thorn in the Maple Leafs’ side throughout his entire career, and even though he’s no longer with the Boston Bruins, he continues to haunt them.
Marchand scored one of the goals in the Panthers’ 6–1 Game 7 victory, eliminating the Maple Leafs from the 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs.
Understandably, Marchand was thrilled afterward—but the same couldn’t be said for the mood in the Toronto locker room or among the fan base.
Paul Bissonnette, a die-hard Leafs fan, wore a full Toronto-themed suit—including a tie featuring the team’s logo—during Sunday’s NHL on TNT broadcast.
Over the years, Bissonnette and Marchand have had plenty of chirping battles, and when the Panthers veteran joined the TNT crew for a postgame interview, he couldn’t resist taking another jab.
“We just had to beLEAF,” Marchand quipped, making a playful pun on the Leafs and “believe.”
He followed it up with a cheeky wink, prompting Bissonnette to stand up from his chair and pace around the studio in mock agony.
Marchand is now second only to Gordie Howe for the most career playoff points against the Maple Leafs.
