The Bruins’ poor run of form had sparked rumors that there was a rift between captain Brad Marchand and David Pastrnak. However, Marchand’s wife Katrina made it clear that the two families remain stronger than ever.

On Friday, she shared a carousel of photos on her Instagram account featuring memorable moments that the Marchand and Pastrnak family have spent together. The first picture saw Brad Marchand and David Pastrank posing with their partners Katrina Sloane and Rebecca Rohlsson during what appears to be a gala event.

The next photo showed Katrina and Rebecca dancing with arms around each other in a concert. The last slide featured a sweet click of Brad Marchand’s daughter Sawyer holding hands with David Pastrnak’s daughter Freya. Katrina captioned the carousel with an ‘infinity’ emoji.

The rumors originally hit the news when radio host Rich Keefe claimed that the Bruins’ locker room is in bad shape. He specifically mentioned David Pastrnak, saying that Pastrnak doesn’t want to play on the ‘same line as Brad Marchand’.

The Bruins captain took it upon himself to make things clear and send a message on Saturday. He dismissed the report that Pastrnak was at the center of any conflict as completely false and fabricated.

“It’s unfortunate,” Brad Marchand told reporters. “I know that reporters have a job to do and that job is to report on the team and usually you try to be fact-based, but when it’s just blatant lies told in the media, that’s when there’s a problem.”

Marchand addressed the rumors directly, defending his teammate David Pastrnak and mentioned that the two of them are very close friends.

“Pasta and I are best friends. We’ve have had an incredibly close relationship for a long time,” Marchand said. “The only reason we don’t play together is so we can spread depth through the lineup.

“There’s zero truth to him being a problem in the room. He’s one of the most loved guys in the room. There’s zero issues in the room at all, and the fact that they said he’s at the center of anything is a completely fabricated lie.”

The Boston Bruins were finally able to record a win after six consecutive losses in their last seven games as they beat the Floirda Panthers 4-3 in OT. David Pastrnak dropped a two-goal performance including the game-winning goal in overtime.
